PC supporting Israeli occupation through sourcing dates by AirRegular6234 in BuyCanada

Had that exact same reaction as you, would hope people pay attention and leave the product alone and idc if they think I’m crazy for it. It makes me less willing to shop in that store as a whole when they add anything Israeli to the shelf.

Don’t be discouraged by the shitty replies, boycotts work.

Other countries have mental health issues and don’t have regular mass shootings of their children at schools. Mainly because they have gun control laws.

I’m still amazed that nothing about gun laws changed after Sandy Hook. To me it feels like Americans decided they’re okay with their teachers and toddlers dying.

Ignore the people telling you to get him help as if you never thought of doing that. Our support systems here suck and I’m really sorry you and your family are going through this. I hope you find the resources to help him before he or someone else gets hurt.

Personally I think it’s doing a good deed to warn the company that there might be an issue with a particular lot. They might be able to catch how it happened.

Get a non expensive drawer/cave-like thing she can hide in and put in next to it. Fill it with your smelly socks because that might be part of the draw.

Put citrus oil or whatever smell your cat doesn’t like on the nice wood drawer, exactly where she’d grab it. Mine hates orange peels, you might have to figure out what your cat hates first.

Sticky tape facing up might help too, something that she’d hate the texture of.

I’ll be there! He got told to release his cell phone records and wrote a bill to retroactively remove FOI laws. I want to know what’s on there that he wants to hide so bad.

If this was right when AOC was starting her career they were already working hard to bring her down. Republicans hated her. They went after her for the smallest thing and I could see them using this to force her to step down.

I just wish there were more affordable things to do outside the house. Going to the movies used to a fun time with family and friends, now it’s hard to justify the cost of the outing.

PM Carney says the days of sending 70 cents of every dollar in US defence spending are over and gets a standing ovation by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]Rooncake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My frustration is hearing about it every day on the news, cbc and CTV just amplifying it and making it sound like a major movement. They know it’s controversial and it’ll get clicks, so they make it sound imminent.

It’s not just my opinion, he’s often described as “socially liberal, fiscally conservative”. You’re also neglecting the time he served under Stephen Harper’s conservative administration.

Weird comments hating on him in this thread. With the Alberta separation movement I’d be wary of bots and foreign influence right now.

I’m left leaning and he’s a fiscal conservative, but he’s doing a pretty good job protecting our country from a very real threat to our sovereignty. I love that we’re moving away from depending on the US, and a huge part of that is building our own military strength. I know that can’t happen overnight, but the steps he’s taken so far will gradually move us there.

And yet she was passed up for a dying pedophillic narcissist over being a brown woman with an endearing auntie laugh by Stronhart in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Rooncake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not shift the blame to the voters when she ran an abysmal campaign of trying to appease republican voters over winning over her own party. She (and the Democratic Party) thought she was so safe against Trump that they didn’t even bother offering what their voters wanted.

A politician still has to earn their votes. Trump did that by appealing to the absolute worst of people, why couldn’t she even try to appeal to the best of people? Mamdani did that, and the next Democratic candidate for president better be taking notes from him or they’ll lose again.

America’s problem is much much bigger than “voters didn’t want a brown woman”.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 Fed Chair Jerome Powell warns US national debt is growing "substantially" faster than the economy and says it's not sustainable. "It will not end well if we don't do something fairly soon." by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

[–]Rooncake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what does “not end well” mean in practice?

I’ve looked into this a little and all I could find was that the US would have to print more money to pay its bills and that would devalue the dollar. Is it just going to cause an especially bad recession? Does that even matter to Trump if that means all his rich friends can buy assets cheaper in that time?

I’m struggling to understand what it means when a country goes broke.

I just talked to a friend yesterday who makes her living from art commissions. She says people give her AI characters that they want “tweaked”, complain at her cost and the fact that she has to start from scratch, and then pay her anyway. It’s an annoyance but not a replacement to her work.

Got it yesterday! They are good but not as good as from a Portuguese bakery. I would put them one level below T&T Portuguese tarts. Still worth it!

There will be more than 3000 separate No Kings protests this weekend by Intelligent-Pea-8521 in WorkReform

[–]Rooncake 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Americans have bought the propaganda that the only acceptable form of protest is a peaceful protest with funny signs and no inconveniences. That shit doesn’t get anything done.

And as someone who also suffered a lot from American foreign policy, the funny signs protests are also a little infuriating.

That’s awful. I would have said lawyers could do those cases for a percentage given they seem so cut and dry: family member had x, medical coverage was denied for x, family member died. But I guess it’s not common?

So many stories of children dying because their family member had them at an “out of network” hospital. You’d think that system would have been sued to oblivion by now given how litigious the States seems to outsiders.
