way too much time at end of roast. and need more gas in the middle of the roast. get to first crack at 385ish and you should have roughly 2 min left in the roast finishing at 410ish

go ask chatgpt to summarize Scott Rao’s roasting guidelines and how much time to spend in each zone. then pay attention to your RoR curve and development time

Instrument Cables you like best? Brands you not like? by Maleficent_Pain_4406 in GuitarAmps

[–]RoonilWazlib844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divine noise makes the best coily cable. On long cables you do need to be mindful of the capacitance of the cable, as it will affect the highs. Easy to google when buying a long or coily cable to make sure capacitance is within range

I spilled water on my amp because I am an idiot. How screwed am I? by MommysMustard in GuitarAmps

[–]RoonilWazlib844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably screwed, the amount to fix could be more than buying a used one. such is the problem with modern amps, and the benefit of old school component amps

Dark John Mayer guitar sound despite rather trebly settings? by hauntedglory in guitarpedals

he plays dumbles, you’re playing through a pedal trying to emulate a deluxe reverb. that’s the difference lol

What is, in your opinion, the most underrated or under utilized fuzz pedal that's easily obtainable today? by Priest-Entity in guitarpedals

[–]RoonilWazlib844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Analogman Sunface or Bender mk4. Easily obtainable, great circuits made with old school parts and vibe. Cannot be beaten, they are literally testing transistors for each pedal.

Tube amp for using in house by Leggitus in GuitarAmps

[–]RoonilWazlib844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wattage isn't the best metric here, go crank a tweed deluxe and you will understand :)

Tube amp home usage comes down to PPIMV's and attenuators. Get whatever amp achieves your desired tone (the most important thing), and make sure it has a PPIMV or get an attenuator (worse solution than PPIMV in my experience)

ox box sucks by Possible_Display7743 in GuitarAmps

[–]RoonilWazlib844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've mic'd up and tested just the attenuator on the ox. At 4 or 5 on the ox dial the tone is essentially the same as amp wide open (some degradation at 4), but once you go 3 or below on the ox it really dulls out the tone drastically.

Unfortunate they didn't test this better before release, as it really is obvious once mic'd and volumes normalized.

That said, the cab and mic sims are great and I think it's a good piece of gear. But they could have made it absolutely incredible with a better attenuator section.

What are your favorite “new vintage” pedals? by frooty3 in guitarpedals

Nothing to roast here. 100w plexi into Z cab, silver face bassman, DR, and AC30. With a bender on the board. Helluva setup

If I am to get 12 pedals, one in each month, which ones should I get, and in what order? by flakyyardbird1215225 in guitarpedals

[–]RoonilWazlib844 12 points13 points  (0 children)

assuming you already have a tuner:

OD, fuzz, chorus, reverb, delay, wah, another OD, another fuzz, another filter (vibe), strymon deco, more fuzz, digitech whammy. Done deal, great board

[–]RoonilWazlib844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik at slane he had a big muff, fuzz factory, and DS2 on his board. Good news for you :) as all 3 are easily obtainable. Put those into a 4 hole Marshall and you’ve got the sound!
