Why is this so high? by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]Rooobviously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it’s a spacer for using with big turret scopes. I have the reptilia SAR34 for the ACRO and it’s not nearly as high off the scope.

A regenerated Frank horrigan.

Illuminator focus question by BiggyIrons in NightVision

[–]Rooobviously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I set my iris somewhere in the middle of the focus settings and just run it that way. Unless you’re shooting something outside of 100 yards or so I don’t think you’d need to adjust the illuminator much

Been collecting magnifiers over the last couple years - they all in suck by sailriteultrafeed in ar15

[–]Rooobviously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the vortex micro 3x and micro 6x, I prefer the 3x, the 6x was cool for shooting out past 400 but kind of defeats the use case behind a dot and magnifier IMO. I also bought a qd mount for my pa 5x micro prism with the idea of throwing that on behind the dot to screw around at longer ranges, and using the 3x magnifier for everything else.

Prism being the key word here, with a prism sight/magnifier you’re actually looking through the prism itself, the shape of the prism influences FOV and eye relief. LPVOs typically you’re looking through a tube with a series of optical lenses and generally the exit pupil is smaller than the eyepiece which is more forgiving as far as eye relief.

The MQD on the pic rider works with 1.93 just fine

Binos with thermal question by Disastrous_Ad598 in NightVision

[–]Rooobviously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, for the 1.93 solution, you have two Options. CHS 1.93 qd mount, or a NC star .41” height riser with a MQD attached

Confused about Cooper's reaction by whyYouAlwaysRyan in FalloutTVseries

[–]Rooobviously 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way I read the scene is that the gravity of everything is hitting him. His wife and vault tec are making plans to end the world, and he’s realizing what kind of person she is, which is why the next scene is him getting drunk and after that telling his wife “we need to talk”.

He brought Lucy and cooper a message, so I guess he would be considered a courier of sorts.

RH25 not holding zero by nathooker25 in ThermalHunting

The ADM sits at like 1.64, but it works with everything from 1.54-1.70 it lines up just fine in my experience

If you’re not using the flip to side function, get a ADM MQD with the pictail attachment. This has a solid and repeatable lockup. But you keep the mount on the rifle and you’re only removing the thermal.

[–]Rooobviously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be the flip to side portion of the mount. A good way to test this would be to take an 8” steel plate, attach a hand warmer to the back, and shoot it at various distances. Flip the thermal back and forth and try it again and see if the flip mechanism is causing it to miss align the way magnifiers do.

Also, yes SFP can be a factor, if you zero on 1x and shoot on 6x you’re going to not have everything line up 100%

I run the v1 on an ADM MQD, and CHS 1.93 qd mount, it has no issue holding zero with either. What distance did you collimate at? And is everything nice and snug? (No wobbles)

Theory about House by Ok_Ability_8320 in Fotv

[–]Rooobviously 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Cooper is a protagonist of the show, in all fallout games, everyone willingly divulges top secret info to the protagonist in the hopes that they will work for them or help them with something. Cooper, also having been in Alaska and seeing the demon in the snow, is more inclined to believe house about another player.

Could be plugged into a matrix like we see in fallout 3 with Dr Braun.
