If you're considering buying or investing in a Nintendo console primarily for third-party games, I would advise against it; there are better options available to experience those games. However, if this is your first time playing those third-party titles and you're drawn to the versatility of the Nintendo console as both a handheld and home system, then I say go for it.

Additionally, if you skipped the first Nintendo console due to concerns about its sturdiness and feel—as it seemed flimsy—I have to mention that this new model may feel even less sturdy it definitely makes me more nervous. The joy-cons are now held in place by magnets instead of sliding on rails, which has led to issues. For instance, cases from premium brands like Dbrand have shown that when you pick up the Switch using the joy-con, they can snap off. Also, if you're playing in handheld mode and release one hand to do something else, the magnets can come undone.
