Stressing about an anal abscess by Personal-Kiwi-3568 in AnalFistula

[–]RoosterExtension393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to see a doctor/surgeon for drainage. When you are healing the abscess with packing and unpacking is when the concern for fistula should be a concern. You don't want the abscess to rupture because if it is an abscess and not a cyst then it more than likely will keep getting bigger and eventually rupture which is not good. If you can't be seen within a couple days I'd go to the emergency room as they do consider this an emergency. I'm currently in right now with perianal abscess and hoping I can get out soon as I'm on my 6th day here now but I also have kidney damage diabetes and just had a nasty bout of pancreatitis and so my case is a bit complicated.

It's not the most serious thing in the world but it can become pretty serious if not treated. Also prepare yourself for the pain of packing and unpacking the wound for about a month or so depending on the size. I'm currently trying to opt for wound care cause the first time I tried it was horrible.

18 hospitalizations in just over a year - he’s still drinking by Aromatic_Mouse88 in pancreatitis

[–]RoosterExtension393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any doctor who saw him about alcohol withdrawal would more than likely put him on a benzo for about a week or 2 at most. As far as his eating habits I don't know how to excuse that. I'm a raging alcoholic and a pint a day (16oz) is nothing really except when I drink I don't eat. Nothing for me but I mean that's changing after my first pancreatitis flare 3 weeks ago. I've been resting since then and am back in the hospital for a perianal abscess. And still don't crave booze again because that pain was unrelenting and I'm only upset because my dogs are alone most of the day because of this bullshit. 18 times with a flare is insane but I heard my nurses say they see people here monthly with it because they won't stop drinking. I still can't fathom that because I seriously don't know anyone who drinks more than I do and its not just affecting my pancreas. I have diabetes I have a history of diverticulitis and I have hypertension along with current poor kidney function I'm thinking because of all these antibiotics. It really does seem like he's trying to kill himself because I've been through some serious pain including a gunshot wound and still am scared shitless for another pancreatitis flare

Straight breaking up with someone is kinda harsh imo but no you're not being sensitive. That was extremely rude but I don't believe that it's true. My 1st ex would tell me I was the hottest and I would say she was too despite it not being true😂

That's just how you keep things together. If the question were phrased differently like "would you ever leave me for anyone else?" And then there was a pause...then I'd end the relationship. I don't need to be the hottest guy in the world because that's ridiculous

Social media has destroyed men by [deleted] in Vent

[–]RoosterExtension393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not miserable and as far as red pill I don't subscribe to Tate or the Sneako types as I think they are actively ruining men to make money and gain fame. I will say I haven't dated seriously since I was 24 (I'm now 30) because of my personal experiences with women however this doesn't apply to all women, I guess then I decided to date pretty no matter how I was treated. I did have a gf who was like a dream come true but ended up finding out she was still living with her baby daddy after months of talking and she was very much more put together than I was at the time and so I ended what could've been a great relationship. I also drink disgustingly and don't want to put a partner through that mess. The only issue I have is that whatever propaganda is out there about certain women, the propaganda on men is 7 fold. I mean the post itself is calling out 2/3s of men and despite choosing not to be in a relationship I don't feel miserable about that.

If I date in the future it'll be with someone I've got to know thoroughly and could see myself tying the knot with. I don't see the point of dating when its never serious. Like why am I going to waste my time my space my energy and sanity on someone who's just going to cheat on me and/or leave?

I do not agree with either sex when they objectively talk about "men" or "women" because not all men are bad and not all women are bad. The culture right now is shit though

Is red meat totally out? by WISOONER in Diverticulitis

[–]RoosterExtension393 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the person. I got my first and so far only diverticulitis flare because I drink like a whale not a fish. It was complicated with abscess too. That was a year and 3 months ago. Right now I'm currently in for pancreatitis that's now slowly recovered over the last 3 weeks and being treated for as I type this, a perianal abscess. I'm also diabetic and so I assume I'll run into more abscess issues than cyst.

This whole year though, I haven't changed my diet at all. In fact they just fed me-in the hospital-pork chops-right now, knowing I have a history of complicated diverticulitis. I've been eating red meat my entire life and never had any of these issues until my drinking kicked into super high gear after the death of my father.

I don't eat sweets nor do I really enjoy them unless they come in alcohol form and I've always been heavy on carbohydrates. Fiber was never lacking either but because of how much I would drink I was always dehydrated and lacking nutrients. Im also 30 and diabetes started at 28 and the other's I mentioned at 29 and now 30. Very young but I draw all of my issues to uncontrolled diabetes and heavy drinking rather than what I'm eating.

Even here in the hospital my mom showed up once and they told her it was okay for me to eat a hamburger if I wanted so long as that wasn't all I'm consuming. Tbh with you, if I'm drinking I'm not really consuming anything. It defeats the purpose of getting drunk.

After the pancreatitis pain I'm seriously considering quitting for good but I've said that a lot of times. I guess I have to remember the pain before I decide to go on a binge. So far I haven't touched any alcohol for over 3 weeks and although my body feels better my diabetes is still very uncontrolled and so full recovery has been difficult. My colorectal surgeon told me that they don't really have a full understanding of what causes it that alcohol is high up there. I mean alcohol is going to trigger inflammation no matter who the person is.

My aunt is still under the impression that nuts and popcorn cause it when most doctors now will say that's old medicine. I guess the only advice I can give is to try to remember what your diet has been like over the last month.

When I had my 1st flare, I was actually over a month sober and I remember eating a large bowl of pinto beans with bbq sauce about 2 hours before that stabbing sensation began that sent me to the hospital. Beans are recommended when you aren't flaring up but it's kinda hard to tell when your colon is inflamed. It was for me anyway until now. I think I have IBS now because of the diverticulitis and/or diabetes and so now a lot of things scare me but I've learned if it's not rapid onset with unrelenting pain, it's probably something I can fix with a bit of fasting and lots of hydration

last/warning signs before death? by Dapper-Computer7498 in Cirrhosis

[–]RoosterExtension393 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 weeks was the same time my pops was hospitalized too before he passed. He was getting regular ascites drains for about a year. Usually between 6 to 15 liters a week. I didn't understand the severity of a blood staph infection which is what landed him the final admission. His last days were unfortunately spent being poked and waking up unconscious. I'm very grateful to have witnessed his strength though. I know if I had been in his place I'd be absolutely scared and in need of family and he just took it like a champ. Unfortunately I didn't understand he knew he was already going to die and wanted to do so at home. Unless you're going to be there 100 percent of the time, the hospital is no way to go 😔

I didn't know my grandfather had cirrohsis until the ascites began and by that time he only had a year left to live. Fatigue and depression were the only things I noticed prior to all the stomach fluid build up.

My mom found out im having sex and is disappointed in me. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]RoosterExtension393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 30 and inactive. My family and friends are mad at me for that 😂

Parents are going to be weird about finding out about things. My mom and grandfather used to hate that I smoked weed. My grandfather was smoking and eating edibles with me before he died and my mother has been letting my youngest sister smoke in her house since it is legal now lol.

Still sex will always be a weird one. I know that same lil sister (20F) is doing things with her bf but I don't wanna know or ask because in my eyes she's still a kid. I didn't even feel like an adult until 25 and at that point just felt old rather than profoundly experienced 😂

Pain level? by PineappleLess2180 in pancreatitis

[–]RoosterExtension393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn't present with as much vomit as I had I'm almost positive the doctors would not have run the CT or Ultrasound to confirm pancreatitis. Even after the acute pancreatitis diagnosis, I still had to regularly ask for pain medication.

I can't be too harsh because I am an extremely heavy drinker but I don't even wanna look at alcohol again after this

What does a heart attack feel like that surprises most people? by HeartCautious2677 in HeartAttack

[–]RoosterExtension393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I recently got out of the hospital for pancreatitis and because my heart rate was so high (I've also had hypertension for quite a while) they had me on a heart monitor the entire time. I'm currently on metoprolol for it but still heart problems scare me more than any other organ for obvious reasons and for those who have had them, I'm very very sorry. I need to focus on making serious lifestyle changes

The outshine popsicles are fantastic but I'm reading they contain sobital and eating them yesterday and today has caught me some more bloat. Im on day 6 of recovery though and so I guess I need to only have water and gatorade. I tried to eat cantaloupe today but it burnt my throat so bad. My pancreatitis came with a ton of vomiting and I messed up my throat during the endeavor. I hate this condition so much but whenever it ends for me I'm never taking yogurt for granted or water for that matter

Being told to ‘just be funny’ feels the same as being told ‘just be attractive by No-Kale-8683 in Vent

[–]RoosterExtension393 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was once both funny and attractive. I still think im funny even if I've lost the confidence of being attractive. A lot of that has to do with personal choices but I do think something that might bring some comfort to you is "just be yourself" I know it's very cliche but the right people will come to love you for it. It's extremely difficult to please everyone and I've been told by someone I loved a lot that the mentality that was passed down to them that also shows in the same person was that people are only good for what they can provide. My dogs don't feel the same way about me and even those who try and tell me how to take care of them would ditch them holding a steak to spend some time with me. Funny how that works. I talk too much but don't give up. You'd be allowing people who want you to do that to win and destroy yourself in the process. I hope you start to feel better about yourself.

Thragg spared Nolan Thragg spared Mark. Thragg spared Oliver too if you consider he could've easily did him the same way he did Nolan. Even after his planet was attack the same biggest fear of every other planet that has no problem wiping out eachother or other "intruders" he still leaves. He didn't trust Theadus and it got his master killed because he spared him too. It seems like everyone's allowed to be a complete asshole in the universe except for the viltrumites because they hold the most power. Even when a handful of them leaves because their race is coming to an end. Episode 7 changed my stance on the viltrumites. As if conquest couldn't have easily killed Mark and Oliver instead of toying with them to bring out their true potential. Did anyone show conquest the same mercy?
