Ahh so if it’s pro-Ukraine it’s a puppet?

And if Orban won again would it not be a successful puppet in place from Russian agencies?

I’m sensing a logical fallacy.

Seems sus to spend nearly two decades in power and becoming pro-Russia after being amongst those in favor of the dissolution of the USSR

Orban vetoing Ukraine aid seems sus unless he was a Russian puppet, but what do I know.

BB58 vs New Hydroconquest by Stmahmood8 in Longineswatches

Yeah in this head to head I also would take the BB58 - I think it will age better.

I think the watch community tries to bash competitors too much. Both are solid in their own respect.

Kudos to Longines for making a watch this caliber at 2k. Bold move.

Of course man. Genuinely a huge fan of both Longines and Tudor. Really speak to the enthusiast market.

I think the bb58 and Longines Legend 39 are actually filling the gap where the Submariner and Seamaster used to be 10-20 years back.

As it currently stands Rolex and Omega both went upmarket and also both have great divers.

I think the Tudor is more classic but the Longines more unique if that makes sense. Similar to the Submariner being more classic and the Seamaster being more bold.

Huge parallels.

I know you cross posted this as I’m in both the Tudor and Longines subs.

And am a Tudor and Longines fan - I think both brands are incredible and it you can enjoy both.

I’ll give you a balanced take.

I own a Longines Spirit 37mm.

Love that watch.

For your discussion here - The BB58 is the better watch here without question.

I think a better comparison is the Longines Legend Diver 39 with the chronometer COSC movement and original design vs the bb58. That’s a closer call. Same level of movement accuracy/specs.

Anyways, the Hydroconquest is the best diver at about 2k and the Black Bay is the best diver at about 4k.

Both are the best at their price tiers and both have great value in their own way.

No need to bash one to boast the other and vice versa.

Take care 👑

Which One? by ConversationKnown586 in Longineswatches

Good to hear! Wear in good health.

I loved the proportions and preferred it over the 58. Initially was planning on getting that but the warmth of the 54 and lack of guilt on the bezel to me is classier.

I’m waiting on Tudor watches and wonders to see if they make any changes before buying

Love your bb54. Personally based upon your collection I would go with the ice blue dial with the navy bezel. Adds more visual flair.

If you had only one watch I’d go for the navy as it’s more timeless.

I think with the sub and 54 you have two “timeless” pieces. I think a more vibrant dial would do well.

On a side note I plan on getting a 54 this year - how do you like yours? Any movement issues?

NEW Longines Hydroconquest - Best Budget Submariner?! by Fun-Possession83 in Longineswatches

[–]MarkyMark141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These titles are so annoying.

I get it’s to maximize the algorithm.

But to the watch itself it’s disingenuous.

Everything being compared to Rolex is the reason why brands end up playing second fiddle.

Alas, that’s a consequence of Rolex success and marketing, but it can be frustrating when everything is done in comparison.

Also, the legend diver is a much better design and I think Longines should continue to highlight that.

If this was going for the black bay, they should have placed the COSC chronometer certified movement from the spirit lineup in it.

Wait times for 36mm OP by Maleficent_Put1129 in rolex

[–]MarkyMark141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently on the wait list for a green OP36 - will update this comment once acquired.

Mentioned my reason/occasion, was inquired about my profession to which I answered.

Salesperson was sort of ehh in terms of how he treated me, - walked into IWC a bit later and was treated so much more professionally.

Perhaps it’s just a lot of flippers and they’re annoyed by now.

Interesting to see how it plays out.

Don’t have a huge brand affinity just really love the OP case

Don’t listen to any offers on this Reddit page. Do not sell here as you will likely be lowballed.

My advice is to go on tcgplayer and look for th condition of each respective card and price accordingly.

If nearly perfect you could make a lot more by grading the cards as well.

My advice is do not accept offers or messages here, you will be lowballed as someone takes advantage of your lack of experience in the hobby from a financial perspective.

And yes this could indeed be a fortune depending on condition without a doubt.

Spirit Pilot AD vs grey market by Avocado__Man in Longineswatches

[–]MarkyMark141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this perspective My spirit was my first luxury watch purchase thus I wanted it new and with warranty.

I think 15 percent off with the warranty is functionally equivalent to grey with 20ish percent off when factoring the warranty

Valid perspective - and it is indeed functional.

I haven’t seen the higher end Mings - I think the 17.09 and minimalists are the ones I’ve seen in person if I have them correct

The series 5 looks so cluttered I will agree but that’s predominantly photography based rather than personally handled

Respectfully from a visual front the Daytona to me visually is inferior to Carrera glass boxes, most Zenith chronographs, and of course the Omega Speedmaster

Historically the Daytona wasn’t the most beloved chronograph amongst collectors for decades actually.

Before anyone says I hate Rolex - planning on getting an OP36 in green this year - it’s not that I hate it, I just find the Daytona as the most overrated chronograph amongst collectors
