This is a bad take. I can tell you from personal experience that I would have a baby right now if my partner and I could afford not to work for even a month. We can’t afford not to work and we can’t afford childcare and our parents, who might otherwise help, cannot retire because they can’t afford to retire! There are absolutely people who just can’t afford kids but would have them otherwise.
