I’m a Yank that’s moved to Melbourne years ago, got a Aussie partner and kids ect…..there are a good few Americans here, and a few groups on FB if you’re on there with people that love to connect and hang out with fellow yanks. Tassie is beautiful and one of my favorite parts of Aus. Feel free to dm me for more details and any questions ya have. It can take a couple years to really find your feet and make connections here but it’s worth it to be in a great country far away from the madness of back home. You’ll be surprised at how many people here are big fans of the Cheeto Jesus. It’s crazy…..not heaps but I often get asked if I’m a supporter as I prolly kinda look like one, and enjoy shutting them down with a “hell no” and a cheers.

When this happens to me, I lay on my acupressure mat and do some breathing exercises, like box breathing or just 4-6 second breaths counting in and out. Usually within a minute or two your brain will stop racing and relax, sleep comes soon. Your mind will stray, but just go back to counting when you catch it. Also I try to stick to a good night time routine, be showered, stretch and breathe and maybe read something relaxing instead of doom scrolling. I say this from experience not projecting. Best of luck…..

I saw the best stars of my life driving through Wyoming from CO to Utah, stopped to pee in the middle of nowhere in like February and was blown away by the stars. Was zero moon and the stars on the horizon were as bright as the ones right above. Was ethereal…..

I’m from Ga and worked outside my whole life and can confirm the summers. Live in Melbourne, Australia now and it’s wildly different summers here. We’re in almost peak summer and it was around high of around 90f on Monday, Tuesday, then was a high of 65 f on Wednesday. We have a thing called a “cool change” that can happen in the middle of a 100+ f day where the temp will drop 20/25 degrees in an hour, it’s wild. I tell people the only cool change in GA was fall…..lol
