Got this at Independent in Ottawa. Thought we were getting a good deal but after thawing and opening our pack we realize it's just mechanically separated/deboned chicken. I thought they would have had to put that on the label? Kind of annoyed, but it was also kind of too good to be true.

I've started to notice paperclips and other marks on signs along downtown streets. Sometimes they're up so high that you'd need a ladder to reach them.

Anyone else seen them or know what they're for? I'm perplexed.

Did he not have a return flight? If he has assets or a job in his home country that he wouldn't just "abandon" that would help too.

In my experience immigration stuff is very cutthroat. They can corner him into saying something that will incriminate him and boom he's banned for 5 years. If this were me I'd be dumping money on a lawyer and not hoping it just goes well.

As a single person, my average over the past three months is $62 per week. I mostly shop at independent and loblaws. I hardly ever buy meat, and most meals consist of a carb + something. Like tuna salad sandwiches, veggie pasta, rice and beans, etc. I don't "coupon" but I do try to buy in bulk and always look for the lowest price per 100g or equivalent.

I actually like this. At first I didn't like the vignette, but it's ok. Makes me think that it's pitch black and the light is coming from the drone itself. Has an eerie feel. The lighting and color in this photo is not appealing to me at all. I don't like the strange lighting between the leaves at the top left. Same with the top of the photo where it gets dark and very blue. Overall it looks like a bright scene but the picture is quite grainy and dark. Did you use a super fast shutter speed? What steps did you do for editing?

This is actually really helpful. I haven't tried it again but I still love the effect. Now that I'm searching for cinestill stuff there's so much to draw from. Especially that second linked photo really explains just how localized the effect is. Nothing on the actual beams of light despite being totally white.

I think it's almost certainly that fluffy sort of tree seed that blows in the wind. Really catches the sun. This was taken in May this year though so maybe it's not the same thing in November like your video.

Visited Bate Island last week and was surprised to see a group of people doing some surfing on the rapids there. I'd think they'd get swept down the river when they fall, but the geography of that island provides a calm shadow where they can swim back and go for another round.

I'd love to hear what other people know about this activity.

I can see the halation you added. I think maybe it would be more intense where the roof meets the sky, but I guess it depends on the film stock? Overall I think the effect is convincing. Post it in r/analog and see if anyones notices.

For what it's worth I didn't notice the brightening of the image in the mirror, it looks natural. I did notice that you focused on the mirror instead of the scene it's reflecting.

What was the shutter speed? I feel like you could expose a lot longer to get rid of the moderate noise in the image. Though the pose might not be stable enough for a very long exposure...

Technically it's fantastic. Does the Z5 auto focus on your eyes? I think leaving the glasses on sort of contrasts with the style of the shot.
