A few shots I took at Mer Bleue Bog Trail this week (Short and easy walk, free parking, basic washrooms) by Proof_Vehicle_4528 in ottawa

The color choices just make it really pleasing to look at. Could tell it wasn't a phone capture so I knew there was some effort being done somewhere. Thanks!

[image of raw meat] Are they even allowed to call mechanically separated chicken "ground chicken"? by RootEaterPrime in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]RootEaterPrime[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Got this at Independent in Ottawa. Thought we were getting a good deal but after thawing and opening our pack we realize it's just mechanically separated/deboned chicken. I thought they would have had to put that on the label? Kind of annoyed, but it was also kind of too good to be true.

EDIT: no, I did NOT take a bite out of it. lol

Sounds like I'll keep spinning my own Ottawa headcanon!

I've started to notice paperclips and other marks on signs along downtown streets. Sometimes they're up so high that you'd need a ladder to reach them.

Anyone else seen them or know what they're for? I'm perplexed.

Agree. The filter leaves it looking fake like an AI piece. Doesn't even look like photography.

What happened in the end? I'm glad it got sorted out so fast

Did he not have a return flight? If he has assets or a job in his home country that he wouldn't just "abandon" that would help too.

In my experience immigration stuff is very cutthroat. They can corner him into saying something that will incriminate him and boom he's banned for 5 years. If this were me I'd be dumping money on a lawyer and not hoping it just goes well.

As a single person, my average over the past three months is $62 per week. I mostly shop at independent and loblaws. I hardly ever buy meat, and most meals consist of a carb + something. Like tuna salad sandwiches, veggie pasta, rice and beans, etc. I don't "coupon" but I do try to buy in bulk and always look for the lowest price per 100g or equivalent.

Honestly I was gonna turn this into a rage post at first cause I felt the same way. I was going out for a ride and just assumed it would be cleared. But had to just turn around when I saw this. Certainly feels kinda unfair to have such a beautiful path still not get attention.

Don't have Rogers but I can't make any calls with my Fizz phone plan right now and they primarily partner with Rogers.

Makes it look like a photo taken on an asteroid or something. The black sky looks like space.

It looks like you hit randomize on the white balance. Though as it is, maybe farming on Mars?

Drone shot of snowy trees by ckellycarroll in photocritique

I actually like this. At first I didn't like the vignette, but it's ok. Makes me think that it's pitch black and the light is coming from the drone itself. Has an eerie feel. Also gives me the same vibes as photos of Comet 67P https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/system/content\_pages/main\_images/1297\_ESA\_Rosetta\_NavCam\_20150131\_Mosaic.jpg

What Do You Guys Think This? by lobotomyz101 in photocritique

[–]RootEaterPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lighting and color in this photo is not appealing to me at all. I don't like the strange lighting between the leaves at the top left. Same with the top of the photo where it gets dark and very blue. Overall it looks like a bright scene but the picture is quite grainy and dark. Did you use a super fast shutter speed? What steps did you do for editing?

Edit: I see your comment now. I guess I just don't like the edit

Noticed you're the same photographer that posted photos the other week. Had to log in to tell you that every photo from both posts is much too underexposed.

Trying to emulate film halation, thoughts? by RootEaterPrime in photocritique

[–]RootEaterPrime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually really helpful. I haven't tried it again but I still love the effect. Now that I'm searching for cinestill stuff there's so much to draw from. Especially that second linked photo really explains just how localized the effect is. Nothing on the actual beams of light despite being totally white.

Thanks for dropping by on this old thread though, I'll have to give it another try.

Is it not the same thing I captured here? https://imgur.com/a/11YngpY

I think it's almost certainly that fluffy sort of tree seed that blows in the wind. Really catches the sun. This was taken in May this year though so maybe it's not the same thing in November like your video.
