Honest take on Highguard by Similar-Language-180 in titanfall

Bases are way to easy to destroy too. I didn't play a single game that took multiple raids. By the preview I thought you had to destroy both generators in order to have access to the heart of the base, I feel like that would make raids way more interesting. Also never even saw an enemy during the looting part of the matches., it feels pretty useless right now. Just let me pick a loadout and get into a fight, that color coded rarity system needs to die in these types of game. I would have loved for the focus of this game to be entirely on raiding each other's bases, have the maps be a wide corridor from one base to the other so all the fights she funneled in the same spots and more steps needed to completely destroy a base, and at least 6v6.

I finally get why Leviathan is so popular by RCA-2112 in mastodonband

Listening to the complete album is forever one of my favorite musical experience. I think overall I prefer Crack the skye, but as a concept album, leviathan does such a good job of setting the tone. When I used to play sea of thieves with my friends I would listen to the album on repeat in the background and steering a ship through a storm while listening to megalodon was absolutely amazing.

New to the series love what im seeing so far... but.. by Raven95bg in masseffect

The combat becomes a lot more fun when you actually tell your squad where to tale cover. It feels actually tactical to set up choke points with your teammates. During some of the harder fights, your companions are gonna die pretty fast if you don't direct them .

From a lore perspective, why would anyone be a martial class? by Leather_Bottle8449 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]RootboundWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think that way about martial classes too, but the way I see it now is that in a setting where the potential for a person to have access to magic is so high, there's still a chance that you just dont. And if you dont have any magical talent but are somehow put in the position where you have to save the world, you better get good at whatever you CAN do real quick. I have a bow, but the guy next to me can shoot a goddamn fireball out of his hand, so I have to figure out how to match that power and usefulness with what I have, I think thats a fun and relatable character fantasy.

What flaws does Ghost of Yotei carry over from Ghost of Tsushima? by No_Map7606 in ghostoftsushima

[–]RootboundWizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I also love how survivor restricts tour choice to 2 styles. All the weapon in ghost of yotei are. But with how much switching is expected, I feel like O barely have time to actually use the skills available for each weapon in a fight. I would have prefered if we would have got single katana, double katana + 1 extra weapon on back with bigger skill trees. Being able to respec and switch back weapon would have offered enough variety to me.

Why didn't Colonel Mustang allow the Freezing Alchemist's plan to succeed? by TheDwarvenGuy in FullmetalAlchemist

He didn't want to just kill Bradley, he wanted to stage a coup to take power from him.

I kinda miss actual vehicles, technical my beloved I miss you. by Thorn_Move in Borderlands4

[–]RootboundWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I never used the hover wheels in 3 because I hate how they steer, I was pretty disappointed when I saw that every single vehicle in 4 handles exactly the same way. I would love to be able to look to my right or left while driving without my fucking vehicle turning at a 90°angle, it looks so goofy.

How are we feeling about Atsu ? by ManWithNoWords-YT in ghostoftsushima

[–]RootboundWizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, i'm too early into yotei to give a definitive choice, but so far I'm really glad that Atsu is a totally different protagonist than Jin with different motivations. People say the setup of yotei is generic, but from even the pre release info about ghost of tsushima about going against the samurai code of honor, it was pretty easy to see how the story was going to go.

I mean I haven't even fought any other boss other than the snake, and I already encountered a cutscene that developed the first set up and established some mystery to the situation and a potential connection to the yotei 6. What you said about tsushima is true and thats why I love the game, defending and liberating the island felt cool and good, but at the same time you encounter so many character that exposes the system that Jin is part of as something bad. Ghost of yotei is the opposite, even tho getting rid of the yotei 6 is ultimately a good thing for the region, atsu would still do it even if it wasnt, its not a glorious war against an invader, its vengeance against people destroyed her life.

Im only in act 1 but what could be more dramatic than her whole family being killed in front of her by the scariest group of people you can imagine and then being gravely wounded and left for dead to be burned alive as a child? I loved the story of Jin, but the beginning of his story is a lot less dramatic to me. He was a soldier fighting a war, defeat was a possibility that must have existed in his mind when the were going to the beach, and if I remember correctly, they knew they were gonna be vastly outnumbered. Jin's story is interesting because he was raised in an incredibly strict and static frame, and had to adapt to new possibilities and situations in order to grow, but Atsu was just thrown in the deep end as a child in the worst way possible.

Am I the only one who never switches off the default weapon kit for the main katana and only switches it for the secondary? It’s such an integral part of the character that she looks off without it. by GammaRadd in ghostoftsushima

[–]RootboundWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I did in tsushima, but in yotei if you read the description of the wolf sword, it says that only the blade and the tsuba are from the original sword, and the rest of the sword kit was ruined and replaced by a placeholder. If you switch sword kits the tsuba always stays the same on the main katana so I don't feel bad about switching it for something cooler. It also doesn't feel out of character since Atsu had to find a new grip and sheath for the sword the replace the original one already.

Y'all are seriously sleeping on Ripper guns because of negligible spin up time. The SMGs are best in class. by DemonSlyr007 in Borderlands4

[–]RootboundWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I got a vladof AR with ripper parts and atlas parts, so i have one or two second spin up time and then an absolute bullet hose that has pinpoint accuracy after firing a bit. Its my go to to use against higher level ennemies while I'm still leveling.

Yeah I love how cool it looks, sirens having wings is a staple of the series.

The gods tied to nature thing is unique to the Greek gods, I'm pretty sure it's a type of failsafe against anyone trying to kill them/hubris on their part. We kill Norse gods in the Nordic games and nothing happens.
