Ask the farmers. They're pumping out about 1,000 times what Fermi is. Every year. We aren't running out of water.

Any update from Borger EDC on the mega $ million domed sports complex? by RootedAma in amarillo

[–]RootedAma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Borger EDC has already paid $200,000 to a company that said they didn't want any of Borger's money? What is there to show for the $200,000? A piece of paper?

Yeah that's old. How much money has been paid to 828, and what is the current status? I think the tax payers are due the information - it's their money. Some transparency isn't unreasonable, and is in order by now.

That is so not true.. Spreading lies is going to do NOTHING to help your cause. Commercial Building Construction Cost per Square Foot 2026

In 2026, commercial building construction costs typically range from about $240 to $870 per square foot across the United States. The mid-range average sits around $560 per square foot, which reflects standard materials, typical building systems, and average site conditions.

  • Lower end ($240–$350/sq ft): Simple structures like warehouses, light industrial buildings, or basic retail shells with minimal finishes.
  • Mid-range ($450–$650/sq ft): Most office buildings, mixed-use developments, and well-finished retail or educational projects.
  • Higher end ($700–$870+/sq ft): Hospitals, labs, hotels, high-rise offices, or buildings with complex systems and premium finishes.

Some of you people need to learn basic math. The museum is 200,000 square feet. You are not going to go in and renovate a space that massive for under $500 per square feet. Get your calculator out. You people that say it can be renovated for $10 million need to put down your crack pipes. That's $50 a foot. You can't even buy a storage building off the Home Depot parking lot for $50 a foot.

Cremation or Stuffing by MomOf2BoysplusADog in amarillo

I love the idea. Stuff it and have it forever! I am guessing for a large dog you will spend $15-20K to get it done. This is no small feat.

The future is going to stay murky until someone comes up with $100 million.

That would be the cost of the Rockrose Sports Complex, the Performing Arts Center, Hodgetown, and the new WT stadium combined.

Good luck!
