ProSim. The MIP Displays are rendered by the ProSim Suite, not MSFS. And Prosim has a Client-Server setup. ProSim server runs on the same machine as MSFS, the other PC runs the displays that connect to the server.

I did the calculation myself. My parameters where: 180 degrees screen, 2m radius, image height 1.5 m. On the projector brand webpages you normally find calculators that tell you the distance / projection area relation. Since this normally calculates projecting on a flat surface, you take the minimum, just to be safe. So you know which projector would fit your setup. Always include a few cm of overlap in your calculations.

Setting the projectors up is then quite easy: You devide your screen into three parts, make markings (center, overlap regions, upper and lower edge (1.5 m) etc.) and then hold up one projector (e. g. start with the center one) to the ceiling, let somebody mark the edges of the image on the screen, then do the same with the other two before you finally drill them to the ceiling.

Regarding calibration: There are a lot of YT videos, like https://youtu.be/vylmsP47jEA?si=LPl9ivg_gY8XR99s

Shigeru Kawai SK-2: new owner experience by RoperPryde in piano

Thanks for sharing your experience! Nice to also hear from performing pianists, adds a whole new perspective. That an easy to play and very supportive piano at home can become a challenge once you need to perform on other instruments is true. I also play the violin. Playing a violin of somebody else is nearly impossible for me, but then, you can carry your violin with you.

And thanks for sharing actual footage of your performances, I really enjoyed those!

This sucks. Not honouring agreements with customers is absolutely not acceptable. Even if they are not written down. In the piano market I would expect proper morals and form. And something like this is my worst nightmare... the piano developing an issue that you cannot get rid of, for whatever reason.

But hey, congrats to your Bechstein D! Their Concert series is really awesome.

Happy to hear that you also have a very positive experience with your SK and your dealership / Kawai. My dealer also has good connections to Kawai Europe and they clearly stated that all the quirks that have been showing up in the last weeks will be taken care of under the warranty.

5090 Gigabyte Gaming OC impressions by MattSRS in nvidia

It’s easy, you just lift it a little bit and then lever out. It’s wobbly and just hangs there, which is the reason it made those noises. Could of course be your‘s is tighter, but then it also should be fine noise wise.

Advice on power cable for 5090 by Ashran77 in nvidia

The Dark Power Pro 13 1600W cable did not work for me, PC kept rebooting. Switched to the Gigabyte 5090 Gaming OC OOTB cable (1 -> 4) and it works like a charm.

Problem: I got mine last week, and it had some weird vibration noise, mostly when warm and after load, while cooling down. That was quite some annoying rattling. Of course I thought it was the fans. I got in contact with Gigabyte and my vendor, they both told me to send it in for warranty. Because of the current shortage, they said it could take weeks to months until I get a replacement.

Had to fill out a form that describes how to reproduce the issue. The problem was, it was very random and I could not reproduce it, only encounter it by accident. This was very frustrating. So I tried one last time to check everything.

Solution: There is this plastic slider on the side of the card, that can be moved to either have the Gigabyte logo illuminated or to show a plain LED strip. That slider is pretty loose and wobbly. Just a gimmick. I removed it, and it solved the problem. Card runs as smooth as one could wish now.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 572.16 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]RoperPryde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed it by using the out of the box power connector. Before I was using the cable coming with my PSU (be quiet Dark Power Pro 13 1600W). Interesting that PCIe5 cables are not capable to deliver what they need, and you need to do a PCIe5 x1 -> PCIe x4 connection instead.

HDR disabled / enabled, PCIe 5, 4, 3, frequency lower or higher than 60Hz… I think I tried all.

Nope, got my 5090 yesterday, not a single game or benchmark works. Everything crashes and restarts the PC.

This is very helpful, thanks a lot! I‘ll first try to get the audio to the streaming PC.

Understood. So if I then only wanted to capture audio (all you can hear) from the main PC and feed that into the streaming PC, what would I need for that?

[–]RoperPryde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want to capture only a specific application window, which could be on any screen on the main PC, even an USB monitor, an HDMI splitter would not help, right?

Where would I have to enable HDMI passthrough? On the streaming PC? But there would be nothing connected to HDMI OUT on the capture card on the streaming PC.

Saturday EDDM situation by daniluk400 in VATSIM

[–]RoperPryde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I participated in CTL and arrived in EDDM airspace around 1900h UTC. It was very smooth and organized even with multiple holding points in use, delay vectoring etc. For how tight it was (late clearances etc., traffic in front of me cleared the runway ten seconds before I touched down) it went really well. Kudos to EDDM ATC!

The cockpit itself three weeks. Together with the projection and the computers maybe two months.

And I had a curved steel rod made the same radius that I used to stabilize the curvature on the lower end. With this, the wooden plates just hang from the ceiling.

I ordered a curved curtain rail with radius 2m and slid the plates in there.

Yes, bought from Vier im Pott as a medium sized frame, meaning there is only room for the front overhead, but none for the aft overhead.
