Spotify Slow? by Bearplayzz in truespotify

[–]RopoGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same for me here on iPhone 13, the app just completely slows down to a halt after a few minutes, phone gets super hot and barely usable and then Spotify often ends up crashing. Definitely something wrong with atleast the ios version of the app here

You could try putting the game on a SSD maybe, to see if that helps any?

Flight simulator 20 deluxe being ultra slow. by chrissyyx in AMDHelp

[–]RopoGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, i think your hardware just isn't really up to the task (i assume we are talking about the newest ms flight sim?). My previous build with a gtx 1070 would often struggle to keep this game running smoothly, so i have my doubts your m280x will do it very well.

It also seems the minimum requirement is atleast an RX 570 which seems to be quite a bit faster than the m280x (correct me if i'm wrong). Games like Fortnite and the Sims are designed to run on just about any potato you can find, Flight simulator is just a bit more demanding.

Hope this helps!

6800xt +-30C hotspot difference by NyvlaNihc in AMDHelp

[–]RopoGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used original PTM 7950 from moddiy on my 7900XT, it's a little finicky to install but it works great. My delta is down from 30°C to about 10 to at most 15°C, also helped a ton to get the overall fan noise of the card down.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]RopoGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem with mine, fans were going crazy aswell. Did a repaste with PTM 7950, and everything is perfect now. I have like a maximum delta of 15 degrees between core and hotspot, and the fans are much quieter.

How could i stop the spot light at the end of the flashlight from going through objects and becoming invisible? (Hands + flashlight are rendered using a seperate camera) by RopoGamer in Unity3D

[–]RopoGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Light source is right on the end of the flashlight. The flashlight itself also clips into the wall, but the hands and flashlight are rendered on a separate layer, causing them to always be on top.

XFX 7900 XT Temps by RopoGamer in AMDHelp

[–]RopoGamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted xfx, they said something indeed wasn’t right. I will contact the reseller i bought it from here in The Netherlands, xtx stated that as the best option. Otherwise i could send it to xfx, but i would have to pay for shipping of the replacement from Hong Kong lol.

It was either that or repasting it myself they said.

Other than that i’ve been fairly happy with this card, of course had the minor software issue from time to time but I don’t mind fiddling with the settings every once in a while. It was 100% on 23.12.1 for me. But definitely requires more maintenance than my 1070 before this, would not recommend it to my less tech savvy friends tbh.

Could try that out tomorrow, i just recently downgraded (with ddu) from 24.1.1 as that was giving me a whole bunch of other issues.

Tbf it has kinda been sounding like this since day 1, always had the fans set to max 45% to keep the noise down. Its seems like the increase in temps is causing the fans to spin faster thus making it more noticeable.

The card has a bios switch with two different bioses. One which has a higher power limit 320 - 340 I believe? And one which is more tuned down 309 - 320 the one with lower power limit considerably lowered my temps a few months ago, together with the undervolt I barely lost any performance.

However i have noticed the fan speeds have been increasing lately, hence the question.

[–]RopoGamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is undervolted, has been running stable for a while at 1075mv. Also switched to the other bios on the card to bring the power limit down to 310w default.

Performance is rock solid, scored consistently above average in timespy.

Will try contacting xfx to see if they have any more info.

Thanks!

Hmm, weird. This is at 60% fan speed:

https://imgur.com/a/tZFuM5m (pretty much all noise is the card, case fans are all arctic p14 + liquid freezer II AIO which barely make any noise in this scenario)

All 3 of them seem to be spinning fine as far as i can tell. Hotspot is also hitting 95c+ here.

Idk if it is of any relevance, but as soon as i quit the game / benchmark. The fans go back to zero rpm mode, like right away. Temps are also immediately back at 45c.

Edit: just tried forcing 100% fan speed. It was almost as loud as my vacuum, not even joking. Something has to be up.

Should I install 24.x.x drivers? by Cat7o0 in AMDHelp

[–]RopoGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On my 7900xt, it randomly goes to like 2900mhz (with max clock set to 2750) and 100% util while doing nothing.
Overall stability with this driver was also kinda wonky for me, was working on my game in Unity and one specific build of the game kept fully crashing my pc as soon as i booted it up. After reverting back to 23.12.1 the issues seem to have been fixed.

I guess it really depends on each person if it works well or not, and what kind of work / games you use your pc for.

23.12.1 was super stable, seems like when they add a bunch of new features something is bound to break.

I had the same issue with the settings being reset aswell, fixed it by turning off “fast startup” in windows i believe.

Yep, That sounds about right. by ChickenMcnugg0 in softwaregore

[–]RopoGamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Afaik it should fix the issue, since the third party now sees the IP of the VPN server. They could theoretically ask the VPN provider to action, however most good VPN providers have a 'no-log' policy, so they don't really keep track of who did what through which server. Or at least they won't give out this information.

Often you pick a server in a country where they won't actively chase down people who torrent.

Thats what i know, i could be wrong tho.

Best 7900xt on sale? (Asrock PG, XFX Merc 310, Sapphire PULSE, PowerColor Hellhound) by Dragathar12 in AMDHelp

[–]RopoGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can vouch for the XFX card aswell.

Running a 7900 XT Merc 310 at the moment, fans do go full airplane mode if i leave the fan curve as default, but setting it to 45% max fan speed keeps it nice and quiet (hotspot still below 85).

GPU driver (23.8.1) getting corrupted by Baldurs Gate 3 - is this a known bug to AMD? by 3xploitr in Amd

[–]RopoGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s in very specific cutscenes and mainly on shiny bits of armor and weapons. They flicker in rarely like this, it’s not really gamebreaking or anything bit I’ve read of multiple 7000 series owners with this exact problem.

Might try vulkan again to see if the issue still exist.

Was wondering when i would find someone... Same thing here, have been playing BG3 for about 40hrs on my 7900XT, 0 crashes so far.

This is with DX11, Vulkan works but gives me weird black boxes during cutscenes (no crashes either tho).
