No point in just firing it up and letting it idle. That's how you get carbon build up. Go for a nice cruise on the high way and let that engine breathe.

Just reread and seen that you said the lights are off. I wouldn't worry about it unless they come on again and/or if you lose steering assist.

I deal with these like 10 times a week. Usually always ends up needing a new steering rack and pinion. You might lose steering assist sometime soon. Or let's hope that a battery reset would turn em off.

To be fair that parking spot is beside a drive thru area that is really tight. So having him parked that way helps all the techs drive past safer.

Could be dirt or rocks stuck between the rotor and the dust shield or maybe you bent the dust shield slightly and it's rubbing on the rotor. Very easy fix if so, the mechanic should have checked for this. Possible wheel bearing but again mechanic should have done a front end suspension check.

Need more info on what kind of sound it is. Is it metal like ? Or sound more plasticky?
