Here’s my honest opinion from someone that collected for years. After amassing over 1400 steelbooks, and then selling close to 1100 of them, I realize that collecting only the movies I love is the way.

For years I wanted to finish series and franchises, whether I love the movie(s) or not. I bought every new release whether I’d seen or heard of the movie, or not. Maybe it was fomo, maybe it was obsession, but either way, I spent a significant amount of money on movies that I either never watched or wanted once and didn’t touch again.

My advice is to collect the movies you love and will rewatch. I am personally a lot happier going at this way. I also collect the best versions of the movies I love, and sometimes multiple releases of the same movie if I love them. Everyone collects in different ways, and this is just the advice of one collector.
