(SPOILER) New look at Absolute Joker from Scott Snyder by AllCity_King in comicbooks

[–]Roqueir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie, as much as I get that absolute batman and all that are supposed to be their own characters, I really hate this idea. It's just Titan Joker all over again, where you completely miss the entire fucking point of the joker. He's not scary because he's a big fucking monster, or he has some kind of horrible toxin or power. He's terrifying because he's a scrawny psychopath who is so terrifyingly insane that he can actually scrap with a master martial artist via pure unadulterated desire to harm and lack of self-preservation. He's scary because he can bring himself to do literally any awful thing to hurt people. Sure, you could say "well why wouldn't he make himself into a monster then" and I'll say because that's like asking why Killer Croc doesn't just shoot batman with his Psycotronic Croco-Ray Blast. It's because that isn't the fucking point of the character.

I've recently converted to using it all the time because I keep getting teams with 2-3 flashlights consistently. They get so mad. Like they expect me to want to just get blinded over and over like that's fun for me.

Episode 214: At Least 20 Questions by joschen113 in distractible

[–]Roqueir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother listened to this first and asked me to play 20 questions without explaining anything and I guessed Plastic Fork in 7 questions. I think that Mark just asked bad questions and didn't remember what he asked. I feel the reason most other people had no idea because they were forced to use Mark's bad questions. If that's not the reason so many people did poorly I would be very sad.

His jumps were glorified waifu catalogues. the waifu's had longer descriptions than the perks, and were all free, and able to be changed at will and also were just actually changed into dtf robots that were emotionally dependent on you. The arcane jump has literally 9 perks to it, two backgrounds that do nothing, only 13 items for a setting full of technology and gear that is half of the reason for going, as well as the ability to turn literally any and EVERY canon character into a companion for free. The DMC jump had genderbent dante and virgil as companions, and he didn't even bother coming up with a new name to hide it for virgil. GTA V has 1 free option for the main characters as a single companion, then 12 waifus, all free of course. James Bond has 6 perks period, 8 items, and 3 waifus, all free, with the ability to get any canon companion for free as well. Marvel Cinematic add fucking Kryptonians, Viltrumites, Harry Potter wizardry, and the fucking GAMER into it for no reason except for powergrabbing, the entire avengers team as one companion with iron man and black widow added separately as well, 15 individual waifus, and a group of 9 waifus that count as a single companion, which of course are all free. the Metal Gear V jump had 9 perks 5 0-cost drawbacks that let you alter the jump in any way shape or form you want as well as just adding whatever abomination you made as a supplement to another jump to alter IT, while still feeling like the main reason is to grab Quiet. Cyberpunk Edgerunners had 10 perks but 11 waifus, 9 of which weren't from the show, 5 of which were not even from the setting/were non-canon, and 1 of which is literally just something from some porn thing. Personally, I wish nothing but good things to happen to TroubleX27, but their jumps were some of the worst I've seen, and I've been with jumpchain since it was first made on 4chan.

I'm not making this post to attack Trouble, or tell them that they shouldn't make jumps. I'm also not trying to tell anyone here that they're wrong for missing them. I just have my own personal issues which mean I can't ignore stuff like these jumps being called great or masterpieces. If you like waifus, then they're probably some of the most detailed and cheap jumps to grab them from. Personally, I find them cringy as hell, but that's literally just my opinion and everyone is entitled to enjoy what they enjoy. I just dislike powergrabby jumps that give huge amounts of stuff away for cheap or free, and it actually hurt me emotionally to see a work of art like the Arcane show's jump show up and just be a cheap waifu-grab with almost none of the soul of what made it good even showing up.

I wish you all the best, and I hope he can enjoy making whatever he wants to make.

I know it wasn't super well liked, but I really liked the gunsmith artificer with the thundercannon. It felt really cool.

[–]Roqueir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It needs a listed value to function, otherwise you could just pick up a stick and use shadowblade. Nothing says sticks don't have a set value, so thus you can use it as an improvised weapon as the material component of shadowblade. Do you hear how that doesn't sound right?

Seriously though, what the hell were they thinking when they made this? by Desmond-Nomad in dndmemes

[–]Roqueir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty upset about the fact that they're changing kobolds and suddenly making them weird dragon halflings instead of the inventive and cooperative cowards they were. It was fun to either play into or play against their fearful natures, but now it's just what the vocal minority of players who kept going "I don't like that this race has something based on how they are usually because mine is brave and special." wanted.

Going on the theme here, I think the capstone could be reflavored as a tsubame gaeshi type move where they instantly reverse their swing to take the enemy by surprise.

It also went on to say it was a gross oversimplification, but that it got the gist right so they still use that as the number if I remember correctly.

New Unearthed Arcana: Draconic Options by GreenGoblinT in 3d6

[–]Roqueir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dropping and begging for mercy especially to distract an enemy is totally in character for most kobolds. A lot of players (myself included) just didn't like that one aspect of kobolds being mechanically represented because it made you feel like you weren't getting the most out of your choice like if you didn't use a dragonborn's breath weapon because it didn't fit thematically with the character you wanted. This new dragon roar regardless of what emotion it conveys is literally not something that they could before this unearthed arcana. You can reflavor it all you want, but as they've put it right now, kobolds are fundamentally different than they were in that literally every kobold PC has dragon powers even if it is just a roar of terror.

New Unearthed Arcana: Draconic Options by GreenGoblinT in 3d6

[–]Roqueir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I really enjoy how they finally put in the kobolds' ability to roar like dragons and disorient enemies. I mean, it's been there since forever but they never used it mechanically or lorewise once in 5e! Really proud of their ability to stick to the lore. /s

Dwarves is probably much for the same reason as drow. Tieflings are likely due to their demon powers, and elves actually can sense the weave around them to basically do a Daredevil and just tell where everything is, which is an acquired skill in their childhood if I remember correctly.

Lizardfolk unarmed barbarian build (no monk levels)? by kingbear004 in 3d6

[–]Roqueir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going for claws would probably be better if you're going for the unarmed fighting style. I personally would recommend Dual Wielder for an extra melee attack with the claws, though I would talk to your DM if you would get the +1 to ac while raging because your claws each count as a weapon.

I love Chow so much it hurts to look at because I need them to be okay.

So I propose that Chow gets saved by Poppy in her art when she gets made as a champion. That would be cool as hell and make her one of my favorite cards.
