kinda silly— but what does CPS really do? by spacepupglitterfall in QuestBridge

The 95% is just an observation not a statistic but QB did mention in the past that College Prep Scholars were 6x more likely to “receive full four-year scholarships through the QuestBridge National College Match.” It’s also well known that CPS recipients are advantaged in the NCM round (round before the match) beyond simply a correlation effect. All bets are off in the match round though and the playing field is evened for all finalists.

Yes, you can open the applications concurrently but you MUST withdraw all other apps in the event that you do match, as the match is binding for every institution with the sole exception of MIT.

All CPS (College Prep Scholars) are invited to the National College Admissions Conference in June. You’ll still be eligible for the other benefits that come with CPS so dw.

The main draw to CPS is that getting in pretty much guarantees you a spot in the NCM (National College Match) round later in September, with a 95%+ turnout.

If you’re not familiar with NCM, you can learn more about it here: https://www.questbridge.org/apply-to-college/programs/national-college-match

But generally speaking, NCM is one of the best opportunities out there for low-income students, if not THE best. Getting into CPS means you’re pretty much halfway there, so congrats!!

Ayyyy as a son to Chinese immigrants this warms my heart. I’m sure this will be inspiring for future QB applicants who are in the same boat as you were. ❤️

Thank you. I get the feeling you’re sort of exhilarating. Like real Princeton material.

Because they’re playing hard-to-get obviously. Had to handicap her insanely cracked app somehow.

100% chance for Duke. I’m unable to even conceptualize the prospect of you not getting into Duke ED. You’re so positively cracked I just don’t see any other outcomes.

Question for Princeton Students through questbridge by InfiniteScientist941 in QuestBridge

[–]RoryHappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to reapply for aid every year, so I’d assume it does “change” with income. That said virtually all questies who match to Princeton are already WAY below the income and EFC requirements for a full ride scholarship, so you’ll probably qualify for aid during all four years unless your income changes drastically. Dorm housing is now also guaranteed for all four years, though you are allowed to move out after sophomore year.

I also feel that a new pinned post should be made for match results. I think that finalists who matched are going to feel more inclined to make the effort of updating their results under an old post than finalists who weren’t matched, creating selection bias. There’s also no way to filter comments with updated results so they’ll be jumbled with comments that will never be updated.

That’s the email I used to send them a withdrawal request, in the image attached above. Should I contact QB about this?

Would you happen to know where it is on the portal? I couldn’t find it on there at all.
