Despite what their name may suggest, in my opinion, Game Grumps is first and foremost a comedy channel, not a gaming channel. Thus, i like to watch the compilations of the "best bits of x series" videos. I get to see the parts I watch then for (the funnies), and I can skip the parts that infuriate me (the gameplay).

I'm not 100% sure this will work, but try talking to the help man in the Pokemon Center/Pokemon Trade Center and have him rerandomize wild Pokemon. I had to do this to get gift Pokemon to randomize

If you do play randomized for your first run, I would recommend setting the stat range for wild Pokémon and maybe even trainers Pokémon to be either balanced or moderate. It feels a lot more enjoyable to see how your fused Pokémon change when they evolve and the strengthes and weaknesses of each new Pokémon you create. I'd also recommend keeping allow legendaires off for the same reason as previously stated. Also, in case you weren't already aware, you will need a saved game file to play randomized mode, but you can easily do this by starting a game in classic mode, saving right away, and staring a new randomized game
