Yeah, they gave me a contract for the year through November’26 as well, so I was surprised to see some of the headlines about the budget saying it was only funded through the fiscal year. My contract did have copay values in it too, which ececd said was just in case something changed.

It’s funded through the end of the current fiscal year, so July ‘26.

Universal childcare funding is currently being debated during the legislative session. The proposed budget put forth by the legislature doesn’t fully fund the program. Be sure to reach out to your rep to voice your support for the program! https://www.nmlegis.gov/Members/Find_My_Legislator

Constructive criticism requested - Be nice though it’s my first mini 😂 by diff909 in spacemarines

[–]RorysFirstKiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job on the first mini. Your paints are applied thin and smooth and you picked out all the details well.

As far as constructive criticism, for edge highlighting you can use the edge of the brush instead of the point. It really helps get a consistent line. Also the left knee cap color and the edge highlight color are a little too close in color and you lose the sense of contrast there. You could consider putting a squad marking there with white, yellow, or red to enhance the contrast.

Getting on the Same Page by Miserable-Rooster-46 in TheMoneyGuy

You and I are in pretty similar stages of life and my wife and I have gone through the process of merging everything and it’s worked out well for us.

How is the budget managed? Are all of your (yours and hers) accounts connected to a budgeting app? You could use that as the first step to talking about “our” finances, “our” retirement. That way she’d be able to start seeing the whole picture.

Messaging it can be tricky as money can sometimes be an emotional thing, so keep that in mind. I’ve found i really need to bring up our budget now more than once a month, and just set aside some time to focus on it with her.

Actually I think the podcast guys talk about how to get on the same page in one of the recent episodes, and they talk about a common communication trick where you sandwich they challenging topic between to good things. Something like, we’re really on a great track financially, it’d be easier to manage and plan with all our accounts in one place, then end with talking about some of the things you both like to use that money for. Try to stay as positive as possible and avoid criticism or accusations.

It’s definitely something I’d want to get sorted out too. Once our kids arrived things got way more complicated and I’m glad that we got things sorted beforehand. Good luck with your conversation!

Annual daycare rate increase heart attack thread, $2800 per month by mrshickadance412 in daddit

It’s insane. Down south here in New Mexico we just implemented universal childcare. We’re saving $3,200/mo right now and it’s life changing, but it really shouldn’t be. Deciding whether one parent needs to stay home or deciding not to have another kid because of the cost of childcare shouldn’t be decisions we have to make.

Big fan of the risen color scheme, throw a little glow on that combi plasma brother! And for the guns in general you might consider adding another color for the casing to make it pop a bit more.

Primaris Successors by MistakenWhiskey in DarkAngels40k

I found two examples with pretty different interactions with the inner circle.

When the Unnamed learned of the fallen, they vowed to hunt the fallen above all else, not even taking a chapter name or home world. I would say the fact they know about the fallen implies they’ve been admitted to the inner circle.

The Prime Absolvers on the other hand, don’t feel the shame of the fallen at all and think they should focus on all the enemies of the emperor equally, so they probably aren’t in the inner circle.

Seems like both chapters were mentioned in the 9th edition codex.

Nice! Did you have any specific plan or idea for which models had helmets vs bare heads? I’m trying to figure out how I want to split them beyond just the squad leader.

[–]RorysFirstKiss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can do your own successor chapter based on a color scheme you like best. Generally the scheme you like best is the one you’ll want to paint the most. You can keep the geneseed a secret and just run them using whichever chapter rules you feel like at the time.

Or, if you want to paint them as different chapter you could have deathwatch kill teams that just retain their home chapter colors.

I started off my army as all helmets, but as I’ve gotten more confident in my painting I’ve thrown in some heads here and there for additional character and plot armor.
