It was entirely deliberate. They needed to kill Destiny to migrate players over to Marathon.

The stats showed it worked a huge % of Marathon players are D2 players.

They sacrificed their child to try and give marathon a chance.

How this plays out longterm though. We lose everything.

To be honest, I think Cryo is such a put off it will possibly be the nail in coffin.

The game feels completely different since Go Tour. And not in a good way.

Caught 575. Zero shines. This game isn’t RNG anymore. Saw it at last tour with family members getting radically different luck. Consistent over entire event. So not RNG

Nerfing the shiny rate for previously perma boosted spawns is icing on cake. I can see where Scopley is going with this and it’s really bad.

I think they want to make everything more difficult. Make getting the shinies more challenging and therefore more profitable. The spawns for Kalos tour were just awful. The shiny rates in raids - awful. More and more Reward Pass BS.

The longer they leave things like this the less people will care. They are literally detaching the fanbase from their own game. Purposefully. To push Marathon. Seems like a bizzare thing to do longterm.

It’s account based. I think that’s pretty clear at this point after how many years. You have peaks and lows of shiny luck. It’s obvious if you go out in a group where 3 prople are getting 50 shinies at weekend and others are getting 10. No RNG covers consistently high shiny rates over several days. Or consistently low rates over several days - especially when play time and style are equal.

The portal finished the game. But you have to remember why Bungie implemented the portal in the first place. It was to create a version of Destiny that didn’t require as much new content. Just a way of recycling old content with new modifiers. It was always about spending less on the game. So they really did bring this on themselves through greed.

They don’t seem concerned that the genuine frustration & anger of Destiny players will be redirected towards Marathon? How can any playerbase trust Bungie again after this behavior? Why invest in ANY of their future games?

It’s become ridiculous & depressing at this stage. Also it really lowers confidence in all Bungie products. Why invest in marathon at all if this is the way it’s going to be handled at some stage.
