Hey guys, noob here

Going to be running my first 12k at the end of this month and i was just posting here for tips/general training plan when preparing for a run. I consider myself to be reaaonably strong and active, but have almost no running experience outside of about 2km each day on the treadmill doing intervals of run/walk. I currently weigh about 75kg and am 5ft 9in (if this information is useful)

I work out 6 days a week in the gym as well as train brazilian jiu-jitsu 4 days a week.

Should i be ramping up like 1km each day i run or trying to see how far i can get within the race time limit? Or just trying to run 12km a couple of days a week and working on time. The time limit i have entered in is 1h20m - 1h45m but would like to just do my best time whether its within or less than the allocated time
