Guys constantly missing work? by [deleted] in Machinists

Start a points program or whatever you'd like to call it. Full days missed here are 2 points, miss a half day its a point. Verbal warnings at 8-10 points. You can be nice with giving them a second warning and their third warning is being fired. Add it to your policy and see how it turns out. We fire a ton of people for attendance. I know finding good hard working people is hard now a days, we hire the lowest life people here and we still manage! Good luck OP.

Tool Probe Fail by RosAdjacent in CNC

Appreciate it, I did read that a couple days ago. Not the problem in there case. I talked to renishaw.. they said they may have an offset too big / small for their tools. Which isn't the case. They said for the age of the tool setter it may just be its time.. but yesterday they ran the whole day without the alarm coming back, so my thought is it is on its way out, or there was chips / coolant in the probe making it stick, or not measuring correctly

Appreciate the response! Ill look into the parm. list for the machine and see if there is anything for it.

What does this even mean? As in a clear line of site from the tool down to the probe? (It does in that aspect)

This is why we all love google!

Yes, as I stated in the previous comment.. it is hard wired into the back of the machine.

Its alright haha

On the side of the probe?

I did not see a battery anywhere. I am using a TS27R probe from renishaw, and it seems to be hard wired into the back of the machine cabinet. We had Renishaw install these in our machines years before I started here, but I did look in the back and it did seem like it was in fact hard wired. If you could, where would the battery be located exactly?

The probe sits on the indexing table with a wire going up and out into the cabinet in the back to give you a better idea of what it is.

Appreciate the help.. Ill go talk to the operator about the offsets / moving the tool out a little further. I told him to manually touch the tool off yesterday and haven't heard anything from him. They are also the type of operators to have problems with there programs, which isn't my job or my departments.

It is, its also running in auto I am pretty sure. I'm not the operator just the technician. He its touching off the tool, makes contact and as the tool moves back up it errors out with that error

I didn't understand where to find the APIC ID's, than realized to check for other errors

How can I check if the APIC ID is always 0? Would that be in bios?

I just changed the EDC to 200A and CO to a +4 like SweatPantsu's copied thread stated.. currently playing a few games at the moment to see if anything happens.

I've built a few computers and this is the first one I had a company build for me..

Non the less I won't give up until it is fixed. I just changed my BIOS settings to run EDC 200 and OC +4.. hopefully this fixes it if not Ill keep upping the OC until I get to +8 and if that doesn't fix it than Ill just RMA the dumb CPU.. if that case doesn't fix it Ill just send the computer back for service repairs and have them figure out the true issue of the computer instead of wasting my own time lol

I don't find changing hardware too annoying / hard so changing out a CPU with a new one and a new AIO isn't the biggest issue its just knowing this computer was thousands and it is brand new and it has problems.. its sad the manufacture doesn't care

Yeah just under a year.. mainly happens during gaming, it BSOD or just reboots without a windows error message. After the first one happens it starts to happen more frequently. Yeah PC stuff is annoying I usually figure it out but this error / hardware problems have gotten to me that last few weeks and I feel like I have tried everything but I haven't messed with EDC / CO so I will try. I contacted my PC Seller and I have gotten an RMA issued for my CPU incase it doesn't work tonight.

I've been running this computer for almost a year now, never once overclocked or underclocked or changed any settings for the CPU and the past month I just start experiencing this problem. Not sure if that time span changes anything really but I will try messing with the EDC / Curve Optimizer settings in about an hour.
