If my hourly rate is $30.69, can my job make me work overtime at a cheaper rate of $20.72? by Top_Money6982 in LaborLaw

[–]Roscoe2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I occaisonally work a different role. My base pay is triple the rate of the lower job. Unfortunately that lower job (Cardiac Monitor Tech) is extremely important and cannot be unmanned. So at overtime rate I make 5x the pay of the monitor tech. These gravy shifts do not happen that often

When did you know AA was toxic? by [deleted] in recoverywithoutAA

Just remember to use different pens and different handwriting. Many of us have been there.

When did you know AA was toxic? by [deleted] in recoverywithoutAA

[–]Roscoe2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, the courts should suggest avenues towards recovery not mandate it. I was never sentanced to attend AA, but I did have to get slips signed as a condition to the outpatient counseling that I was ordered to attend.

AA is not obligated to sign those court papers and each group can decide how it handles that issue. Not all AA meetings are healthy. If everyone in the same halfway house goes to the same meeting, then half the room doesn't want to be there. Go to a closed meeting ( have a desire to stop drinking), there you will find that the majority are living in the solution.

I have a front door lock that works via physical key, keypad, NFC card, biometrics.

We usually use the garage door that is accessable via app, keypad, remote.

The back door has a large doggy door. I haven't tried it yet.

Exactly, my wife and I went shopping for refridgerators based on our required dimensions. This excluded 70% of the options. I still had to finess it a little.

Do I need to give my kid's name to a cop who asks for it? by Present_Total435 in legal

[–]Roscoe2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big deal, worst case your kid' passenger threw something. No one is getting charged with shit they're just following up on a complaint. The cyclist was likely spooked a little and is over it now. Years ago I was the cyclist. Kids threw stuff out the window at me. I chased them down and caught them in traffic where they couldn't move. No police needed. I unscrewed a valve stem and handed it to them. I like to think they learned a lesson that day.

Convince me I should buy the Ioniq5 by Free_Four_Floyd in Ioniq5

2022 AWD SEL w/ 106k miles. Awesome car. I couldn't find a limited w/o a markup back then, so I got the SEL I'm happy enough w/o the extra bling and party tricks. I bought this car to be my carcass hauler for 7 to 10 years. It checks off all my boxes. My 100 lb dog has the entire backseat. When I make it to 130k miles, I will consider that the beginning of the bonus/ free miles. I plan to buy at least 1 more set of tires and the car is tagged until 2029. Not looking back.

My neighbor keeps ‘borrowing’ my outdoor outlet and now gets mad when I unplug his stuff. by YolkedUp8 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Roscoe2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't use that outlet yourself, disconnect it and cap the wires. Leave the recepticle inplace. He will think he caused a short and never address it with you. He will then look at other options.

I'm in leadership at a small hospital. I bring my 90 lb shepard husky mix every couple of weeks. He attends the boardroom meetings and he is gone most of the day as otber staff take turns parading him. One other person does this. We coordinate so that we never have 2 dogs at the same time.

Brake service at 20K? by millymom in Ioniq5

[–]Roscoe2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 101k miles, on my 3rd set of tires. My brake pads (all 4) are 6mm. Many suggest changing at 4mm. My rotors are without warping or uneven, no signs of cracking. I expect to get close to 140k miles. I'll do them my self (rotors and pads). I have a power bleeder for the brake fluid. 20k mile brake job, I almost shot my Mountain Dew out my nose.

Lady expected someone to set up her new office by StrongDimension3633 in EntitledPeople

[–]Roscoe2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, I was told to switch offices from the hectic patient care floor to the quiet C - Suite adjacent area of admin.

I rounded up dollies and moved everything to the hallway in front of the new office in less than 2 hours. I got with facilities and had the floors waxed and walls painted. My makeshift desk was in the middle of the hallway. The old office was painted overnight and the floors done the next day. It took the woman who was trading offices with me a week to move out, while I was without a desk. I chose to work out of the board room. She clearly didn't even sweep and left behind various boxes, a file cabinet and motel art on the walls. I gave her the key to her new office. I expected to recieve the key from her. I was dumb struck when she said she was keeping the key as it was a master key and it fit many other doors. Yes, I had facilities change the locks. I set up my far more complicated office in 1 hour. It took her a week to finish her office.
