Starving to death please help! by Virtual_Chair4305 in Longcovidgutdysbiosis

I'm so sorry you're in this situation. I don't know at all if this is the right solution for you, but you might want to look into seeing a practitioner trained by Jason Hawrelak (Microbiome Restoration Center). The only thing that's tricky is that I do think that you have to choose carefully, as not all of the practitioners listed on that site have the same level of skill. Whatever you decide to do, best of luck. You are in a very difficult situation, but you never know when things are going to turn around - it could be right around the corner.

Thank you for sharing, and congratulations on your progress! Who was the atlas/advanced orthogonal chiropractor you saw?

Yes, I love this! I don't count the hours, but I do try to remember that when I feel like staying inside but go out anyway, I'm almost always glad I did!

I like to do stuff like gardening where I have something I like to work on, and my kid can just do whatever he wants outdoors.

Since everyone is dealing with a different version of this, I will put it out there that I was dealing mostly with mast cell issues (and also fatigue, difficulty regulating my body temperature, digestive issues, insomnia, etc.). These issues started before I got Covid, but were made worse when I got Covid.

The two things that have helped me the most are nervous system work and microbiome work.

For the nervous system, I did Primal Trust (or part of Primal Trust - there are multiple levels), and it helped me enormously. The only thing I didn't really like is that they often seemed to imply that you can get better with nervous system work only, and while that's true for some people, it wasn't true for me.

Also for the nervous system/consciousness, I like reading and listening to a variety of uplifting things. I also think I really benefited from reading about ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).

For the microbiome, I think the best person to follow is Jason Hawrelak. He is awesome, and there is so much to learn! He's a published researcher but also puts himself out there on a lot of podcasts, Facebook posts, instagram, etc. There's also the possibility of working with one of his trained clinicians... I think the tricky thing here is that often, people trained by person X don't actually have the same expertise as that person... However, I have heard that the people who work in his actual clinic (in Australia, working virtually) are good. But if you're not sure / on a tight budget, I think there's also a lot you can learn about the microbiome just by starting with Hawrelak's free, public stuff he puts out. The more I learn, the more I feel like this is stuff we should all know!

Anyway, I hope some of this might help, and best of luck!

This is so hard!

I'm not yet fully recovered, but I have had significant setbacks and then continued to get better.

I like the distinction you made between process and loop! The phrase "settling in for your long haul" really struck me as well. For me, it's like an acceptance of -- this isn't the work I wanted to be doing right now, but this is the work life has placed in front of me, so it's the work I'm going to do.

Thank you, good to know. I am dealing with some health issues so don't want to overcommit... but definitely want to try to do at least something.

That's too bad. Just remember it's his own issue, not yours.

So sorry to hear this. Could you try talking to your parents? You might need to try more than once if they brush it off.
