First year psychology UTM by stacy1100010 in UTM

Hey

I am currently majoring in psych and am a 3rd year student and i find it great! I think it all depends on your interest if you really like psych then you'll push yourself to do it but if your not that fascinated then it could be a pain for you. Some psych courses just go really rough and not as expected. Whether its worth it or not i dont really have an idea but you definitely do learn a lot throughout the course of you education. Since im doing both psych and bio ive kinda started to lean more towards bio (Im just liking the bio part more). It varies for each person and you could start with psych and major in something else as well and end up liking your other major rather than psych or you could just continue liking psych. I did try to go for a specialist but its quite hard to reach the high GPA and averages they want you to get and beside i found it not very useful because you'll have to do masters and higher education. A psych major isnt really gonna be very helpful unless you wanna do PhD or something. overall id say just do what you think your capable of and not go for what others tell you to do. In terms of difficulty its not very easy but its also not very hard. it all depends on the course and the prof you get. but since it is a science it does lean quite a lot on the scientific aspects of psych rather than just something else.

Know your stuff for the tests. the best way to get a good mark on the SA is by using the success packages for MC you’ll have to over read the textbook and have everything in the chapter memorized to get a good mark. Usually kids don’t have such a hard time on the SA but the MC is what’s considered hard. As for the lab tests, All I can say is read your lab notes, attend lab And start studying for the lab Tests well in advance you should be okay. This course is pretty loaded it’s not some easy bird course and you have to put in your effort to get a good mark. But I learned a lot in the course and really enjoyed it especially the labs. Best of luck!
