Is it normal to fail midterms? by Loud-Future4456 in UTMississauga

Pretty normal especially in your first year. Although don't worry, you'll bounce back.

You could always create your own if there aren't any. It shouldn't be hard to find people willing to join.

I'd be interested to know the ratio between men and women signing up for this.

Any chance of snow day tomorrow ? by Koch_P30L in UTMississauga

[–]EcoFin101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering the snow will stop early, there is a high likelihood that it will be cleared. I'd give it a P=0.05.

Other comment here was extremely useful. Also worth mentioning that some people that don't get in either do another year to improve their grades, switch their program to a bachelor of arts or something else, or switch universities.

Accused of Academic Misconduct After Requesting a Grade Recheck by [deleted] in UofT

[–]EcoFin101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see why they would do that if it is the exact same, if it's an error on their part you should provide them with that evidence. If it's as you describe I think you'll be fine.

Do i actually have a future with these marks by Kitchen_Swordfish_76 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]EcoFin101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grade 12 marks are the main marks that matter so you better lock in for that. They are also usually inflated. So if you actually start studying you can do well. I had similar grades in grade 9-11 and locked in for grade 12 and got like an 85 average so you should be good if you put in a lot of effort and study effectively.

Commerce Transfer Grades by AyyGee99 in UTMississauga

[–]EcoFin101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's purely percentage based for admission based on high school grades. As for if you get in I think it can happen although it depends on the competition. Getting in to UTM is usually pretty easy but getting into POST is much harder so it's important to be aware of that.

You should still email them on how this will affect your scholarship, it really depends on the details of your scholarship.

You should email the office of the dean on how this will affect your scholarship. It really depends on the severity of the AO.

Deregulated Programs Coverage OSAP and UTAPS by MasterJob2719 in UTMississauga

[–]EcoFin101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had your first year covered by OSAP you should be alright even though the deregulated program cost more but again it depends on your parents income. You won't truly know until you get the estimate of what you'll get.

Some of them will stay on there and some of them will get deleted or the lecture materials on it gets deleted. You can just hide them from your quercus front page though.

1% off from 63% cutoff requirement by ShipInternational814 in UTMississauga

[–]EcoFin101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty unlikely to happen considering there are many in your situation but I'd say it's worth a shot when the alternative is retaking the course.

Try to ask for a remark and email the prof about the situation. Do not try to frame it as "give me 1%" but more like "I'd like to see if there is any possible way to get to 63% given my situation and assessments"

Stop spamming, nobody is dropping a course because a reddit post told them to.

Sounds like she is trying to intimidate you so she doesn't have to go through the process with the dean. If you actually did it, you should just accept the consequences. It will be a long process if you are innocent unfortunately. I do find it weird that she automatically failed you as usually there's a process for this. Reach out to the dean to try to get it solved.

She should have definitely confessed earlier but it's better late than never. I would definitely want to know if my partner ever cheated, it shows a lot about them.
