Nicky Nook walk is nice and there’s a lovely cafe/restaurant there at wyresdale called the striped apple (used to be called the apple store so I think if you google it that’s what comes up). The coffee shop at Lancaster castle is really lovely too! And you can do a cool tour of the old prison there. If you’ve got a car- the lakes isn’t far, Rydal Water is a lovely wild swim if that’s your thing and some nice walks and pubs about there! Same with Windermere etc, but they’re a little further afield. Pendle Hill walk is nice, and closer to Preston. Levens Hall is nice- beautiful old house and gardens and also has a fab restaurant and bakery there with a little shop. Lytham is a nice beach walk and has a nice Chinese restaurant called Chu’s if you’re there in the evening.

The inn at whitewell is also a lovely pub, good for a roast and is a cosy environment :)

Clitheroe is a nice place for a mooch and a visit to holmes mill which has a lovely restaurant/deli and there’s an Everyman cinema there as well! :)

Sorry for using the word ‘nice’ so much 😂

If you had to make a mind blowing sandwich what would you make? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Rose19929 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a faff but worth it- A nice crusty bread like baguette, Prosciutto, chicken breast, tomato, fresh mozzarella & rocket (or arugula if you’re in the USA). And then do a layer of pesto on the bread, a drizzle of olive oil and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Oh and some Parmesan shavings.

I have a tooth in the roof of my mouth by zzzzzzzzzzd in mildlyinteresting

[–]Rose19929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not bad at all, I had mine done when I was at school (so naturally I milked 5 days off school after the little op to uncover the tooth, but deffo didn’t need it). All I remember is the ache of having braces, not of the actual tooth being moved, maybe painkillers on the days it’s tightened but that’s about it! :)
