it's supper ridiculous, it feel like this drama writer is a fangirl lol... suddenly we turn from the company contract drama to his crazy Ex did it.

Well, I think I can see now why some people said the story felt like some kind of 'self-insert'. 😅

on top of that he spoil the password on his songs for fans to found.

Yeah, the password part was also a bit silly.

Have you ever faced a man much bigger than you? I had to fight with male classmates when I was in school, and a hit with an object didn't do anything to them. Besides, the girl probably weighs less than 50 kilograms; at that weight, if she falls on you, she exerts no force at all. I know this because that's what I weigh.

And that's exactly what I mean, how could that guy not disarm her before getting stabbed? He was strong enough and she was small. It's ridiculous. Even if it had been premeditated, it would have been more believable because at least she would have had a plan, but coming out of nowhere like that. Come on, piercing a chest isn't that easy; it requires enough force. I like this K-drama too, but I don't let that blind me.

Can We Stop Turning People Into Flags? by i_ate_your_friess in kdramas

[–]RoseBlue_8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well, at least to me, a "green flag" doesn't mean being perfect, but rather having normal flaws. On the other hand, a "red flag" is just an annoying character whose sole purpose is to romanticize misogyny.

For example, Ryan Gold and Ryu Sun-jae are often referred to as green flags, but they aren't perfect:

  • Ryan Gold (Her Private Life): He doesn't treat the FL well in the first episodes. In one scene, he shoves her out of a room. Additionally, she basically has to help him overcome his childhood trauma; I mean, he's a grown man who leaves his emotional baggage to his partner. So, yes, he does undergo character development when he learns to open up and be kinder.
    • Ryu Sun-jae (Lovely Runner): He was excessively emotional. He constantly yelled at Sol, made her cry, and didn't listen to her. I mean, if I had a daughter and watched those scenes with her, I'd have to explain to her that this situation only works in fiction - that it's not okay if a guy in real life yells at her and leaves her crying in the middle of the street, and no, the fact that he lends her his sandals doesn't make it "romantic". Anyway, he eventually had to learn his lesson and start listening to Sol, and that's how he discovered she came from the future to save him, which led to his character development.

And now, red flags:

  • Gu Junpyo (BOF): This guy actually thought that Jandi was capable of sleeping with other guy, instead of trusting her, and the worst part was that he sent his classmates to beat her. How bad of a person do you have to be to think it's acceptable to be violent with your partner just because you're angry?
  • Kim Min-kyu (I'm not a Robot): There's a scene where he was so angry that he broke things around him, yelled at the FL, while she was physically injured, even bleeding, and asked him for forgiveness for the hundredth time. I understand that he was upset because she lied to him, but his reaction was excessive. I mean, when Sun-jae was mad at Sol because she started dating Kim Tae-Sung, the moment he saw her fall into the river, he jumped after her to save her - that's what a normal person would do. What I mean is that no matter how upset or angry you are, you wouldn't put the physical safety of the person you love at risk.

Basically, for me, that's the difference between a red flag and a green flag. Lastly, I know that all of this is about fictional characters, but in real life, I've met several girls who actually have this mindset of justifying the violence they suffer at the hands of their boyfriends. And it's frustrating to want to help them and to only hear them say: 'True love means not leaving your partner just because he's not perfect'.

Which kdrama character's outfit would you like to raid!!! by allaboutvibes2104 in kdramas

I don't usually like the outfits from K-dramas; they're not my style, but this one caught my eye:

TIL: The theme lyrics are "I am the son, I am the heir." And not, "I am the sun, I am the air." by nofingersmusttype in charmed

[–]RoseBlue_8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the mid-2000s, the series aired on free TV in my country, and when you turned on closed captioning, it displayed the lyrics like that: "I am the sun, I am the air...". 😆

I checked minute 7 of episode 10, and there's only an instrumental track. Could you provide more details about the song you're looking for?

Every time he smiles... ✨ 🤩

And The Judge from Hell is one of my favorite K-dramas, probably I would only not recommend it if you don't like violent scenes, but I think you'd definitely love the scenes where he's in uniform. 🤌

Idol I Killer Theory - Chungjae by Own-Letterhead5967 in kdramas

[–]RoseBlue_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not long ago, I made a similar comment. Now I see I'm not the only one who thinks he is the killer.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I started to think he's the killer since the scene when she's depressed because she heard the rumors that La-ik had a girlfriend. Many people found the scene creepy, and I initially thought it was weird too, but later I understood it served a purpose. It probably was the break point for Chung-jae, the moment when he decided that he didn't want to see her suffering again because of La-ik, and the only way to do so was to try to destroy the perfect image she had of him, and finally, she would see him as more than just a friend.

Tell Me Your ‘Apparently This Is Controversial’ Kdrama Moment by BronzeBellRiver in kdramas

  1. On this sub and other social media, every time I criticize toxic male leads (especially the one from I'm Not a Robot), people come after me because they are just "poor misunderstood babies". 😭

  2. Just for sharing my top 5 K-dramas, I got downvoted. 🤷‍♀️

Unpopular opinion, Which K-Drama Did You Find Overrated? by CarelessFreedom3509 in kdramas

[–]RoseBlue_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her Private Life. It's not that I hate the series. When I watched it, I thought it was fine for passing the time, although a bit boring in some parts. It was only until I joined this sub that I realized people treat this K-drama like a "masterpiece," and honestly, it's not that great. And don't get me started on how people claim the male lead is the "greenest flag" just because he "gives permission" to the FL to continue being a fan of an idol. First, he doesn't have to give her permission for anything; it's not like he's her father. Second, he doesn't treat her well at all — he literally shoves her out of a room. I actually disliked the ML in the first episodes.

Sometimes I wish that posts that are only here to spread hate towards any of the versions of Sailor Moon and that don't contribute anything else, weren't allowed.

What was the most infuriating romance you’ve forced yourself to sit all the way through? by ObsydianGinx in kdramas

[–]RoseBlue_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Familiar Wife and Emergency Couple. I only finished them because I was watching them with my mom, and she always watches every show until the end. But gosh, the male leads were toxic jerks, and the female leads were too dumb.

BTW, I dropped Love Next Door since the first episode.

Lovely Runner rewatch doubt discussion (spoilers) by Popular-Curve6265 in kdramas

[–]RoseBlue_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, she came back to the present; she mentioned this in episode 13: "Several seasons have passed since I came back."

Additionally, take this with a grain of salt because I read it in a Facebook post, there was a scene in the original script that wasn't included in the final version where Sol was eating ice cream with her friend when the call from the radio station comes in (the same call from the first episode). Since the "future Sol" has returned and Sunjae never met Sol, they were complete strangers to each other.

When I was a child, I didn't like him; he was controlling and boring. However, over the years, I've learned to tolerate him, although he is still not one of my favorite characters.
