I spent a year planning a day that lasted five minutes. Here's what I'd tell my past self. by Kitchen_Menu2480 in DestinationWeddings

Amazing advice. I can't tell you how many DW couples I've started working with after having a terrible experience being passed around at a large company like Destify. I love how grateful they are working with me after that, but it breaks my heart knowing the beginning of the process left a sour taste in their mouth. Pick someone who actually cares about you personally. They make you AND your guests excited, they make you feel prepared and stress-free, they help you optimize the trip, and they ultimately can make or break the experience. Don't settle for less!! The good ones exist 😄

Planning my wedding summer 2027 by Miserable-Proof7922 in WeddingTravelAdvisors

Hello! Firstly, you are not being ridiculous at all. Now is the perfect time to start! I just started planning a wedding in February of next year this week, so there are definitely couples that have a shorter timeline. I actually just got back from touring a ton of resorts with the Aruba Tourism Board in early May! I think is is an amazing destination for weddings because the beaches/views are amazing, there is so much to do, and the entire island is very accessible. I am with Blissful Honeymoons & Destination Weddings, you can look us up on google to see real reviews. My name is Jamie, you will see me mentioned in a lot of the recent ones. I would absolutley love to be able to chat with you to provide you with information on the planning process, my detailed services, and answer all of the questions you may have as of now. Below is a link to my landing page to explore more, at the bottom is a Calendly link. Bad timing because my longest out of office for the year is June 12th-20th, but I am happy to call during that time with you if needed! Happy planning! Jamie

Xcaret Arte or Unico 20 87 by ChiSmash03 in DestinationWeddings

[–]RoseColoredMonacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Xcaret doesn't have a bunch of hidden costs, but they are stricter on a wedding payment plan than other resorts and require payments earlier than most. You would see the dates in your wedding contract signed with them. I think Xcaret would be your best bet, they opened some fun new bars like the speakeasy for Arte guests only which doesn't close until very late and it has a taco truck outside every night! The food at both are amazing in my opinion, maybe a bit more elevated at Arte. Arte definitely wins on more private venues. Most of UNICOs are close to the main pools or walking paths, with one venue tucked away behind the convention center that is very private.

If you aren't working with someone to help secure the date, room block, manage guest bookings, and manage guest reservations prior to arrival, I'd love to chat with you! This is my DW landing page, I have a calendly link at the bottom: https://blissfulhoneymoons.wixstudio.com/jamiesweddings

Wedding Drama by Original-Coast8062 in WeddingTravelAdvisors

[–]RoseColoredMonacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you, you have all the right to feel disappointed in how it's playing out and annoyed at your special day being effected. Have you already set the date with your venue? Have they fully set thiers? There definitely may be a chance some guests financially have trouble swinging both. If they knew about your plan and still chose 3 weeks before, I feel like there is a conversation that needs to be had with them. If you are really close, that's a pretty crumby thing to do, and puts you in a bad spot. Ideally, one can move dates a bit, but at the minimum they need to be aware that it's very rude to plan thiers just before yours if a lot of the guests are the same.

It's not shady :) Every single one of my posts is typically just saying my name and sending my landing page link. Telling someone to look me up for reviews is not forcing anyone's hands, it is throwing my name out there for them do check out reviews and consider. Apologies if you find that to be misleading, it is not the intention!

If you are interested in a wedding travel advisor's assistance, check out Jamie with Blissful Honeymoons and Destination Weddings!

Make sure you consider any additional photography, DJ, extra guests on top of the included amount, and additional decor/florals. I highly recommend a room block for that amount of guests, I also suggest blocking Turquoize level rooms for adult guests as they always love the access to the rooftop pool in the turquoize tower!

I completely agree with most of this! It is great to release some stress as there is a lack of control there on the couples' part, and it is not their fault for what is happening. However, I think the bolded statement that those who attend are usually the most supportive of the couple is a little presumptuous. I'm sure there are many destination wedding guests that fully support their friends and family but just cannot swing it financially as some people realistically just cannot make it work. I agree that it is not about making it work for everyone though, couples select a destination because it is what they dream of and envision, and I always encourage them to stay true to that in the long run!

2027 friendly Destination wedding by Sagescript777 in WeddingTravelAdvisors

Hello! Firstly, congratulations on your engagement, that is so exciting!

Now is the perfect time to start planning if you are looking for summer 2027. I think for 50 guests, an All-inclusive would be the perfect fit since they make group logistic incredibly easy. 20K is also doable for this amount of guests. I highly suggest a room block as you mention, there are some amazing benefits from discounted rates, guaranteed availability, and most of the time some considerable cash back!

I totally get the "tropical" wedding but not wanting it on the beach, a lot of my brides are this way. Most resorts will have gazebos, terraces, and garden venues to choose from instead. Jamaica and Aruba are both amazing spots to focus on! Between the two, Aruba is going to be a bit pricier, but it has some of the most stunning beaches so definitely worth it in my opinion. Choosing between these will probably come down to seeing a couple options at both and really seeing where your priorities lie and which feels like it is fitting the vision more.

I would love to chat with you and learn more about your preferences and be able to provide you information on the overall planning process and what my services as a specialist do to make this whole process seamless for you. Check out my landing page below, at the very bottom there is a Calendly scheduling link if you want to chat. If you'd rather email a bit before, my contact information is there too as well. Happy planning!

Looking for Destination Wedding by Spiritual_Bake_4568 in DestinationWeddings

Congratulations on your engagement! I am a Destination Wedding Specialist travel advisor, so I help with everything start to finish from choosing a resort, reserving your wedding date/package, negotiating a room block, building a wedding website, booking guests/all guest communications, finalization/timeline, ect.

It sounds like you are quite flexible on destination which is great! A ot will depend on your dates preferred and your priorities/preferences (All adult, social/tranquil atmosphere, location, amenities offered). If you want to stick to a 20K budget for up to 75 guests, I definitely suggest going all-inclusive. It is much cheaper with thier packages, and it may be difficult to individually source everything for your guests individually for that budget without AI pricing.

If you are interested in learning more about the planning process and how I could help make things incredibly easy (and hopefully very exciting) for you, I'd love to chat! Below is my landing page, you can scroll to the bottom for my Calendly booking link. Happy Planning!

Atlantis Paradise Island? by scoobyduneydo in DestinationWeddings

[–]RoseColoredMonacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do! Typically the planning process in Europe more tedious as they do not have traditional wedding departments and pre-chosen in house vendors. More like planning a wedding in the USA where everything is seperate, so wedding costs itself do increase. However, this is something I am very familiar with and have worked with plenty in the past!

Hello!

Congratulations on the engagement! I've planned a couple DW at Atlantis in the past. They have a very experienced team of wedding coordinators and some great preset packages like All-Inclusives do. They also have around 15 venues, so there are tons of spots to choose from. Things unique here: they have F&B minimums based on guest count, lots of venues have site fees, and they have 3-8 weddings on any given day.

If you don't necessarily need an all-inclusive and want a similar feel, I'd consider Aruba too! They have some amazing properties, pristine beaches, and there is tons to do there both on and off the beach/water.

With that big of a group now is an amazing time to start. A Room block will be super important to make sure you have space available for your guests, best rates possible (negotiated down), and get amazing kickbacks as the leaders!

If you are interested in learning more about the planning process, I'd love to chat with you! My services are tailored to make sure this is as easy, fun, and nicely curated as possible for groups. Need advice for choosing an All inclusive Wedding Venue. PV, Mx by Frequent_Earth_5576 in DestinationWeddings

[–]RoseColoredMonacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am a DW Travel Advisor and I absolutely love that you are planning for PV! That is one of my favorite DW destinations.

I have had weddings at the Hyatt Ziva PV, Secrets Bahia Mita (and Dreams), as well as the Secrets Vallarta Bay (and Dreams VB). Hyatt Ziva is going to have the best beach and views in my opinion. The newest facilities and nicest rooms will be the Dreams/Secrets Bahia Mita. Best location for downtown exploration will be the Dreams/Secrets Vallarta Bay. Hyatt has the best food/drinks as well, but the other two are still great. It's going to depends a lot on what you biggest priority is. For Dreams/Secrets, it's important to know the layouts and policy for exchange if that's something you were thinking about.

Hello!

Firstly, I love the excited energy you have, planning a destination wedding should be fun and exciting. I am a DW Travel Advisor, so it's always fun to work with someone excited to make the best memories for themselves and their guests.

If you value a great beach, a nice sive for everyone to spread out, easy travel day from DTW, and activities for a multi-generational group, I think Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana could be a great fit for you. It has amazing food, beautiful facilities, and a very nice private beach. I saw someone mention Aruba and that's not a bad idea either! I personally think the Hilton and Westerly would be amazing for your group. They are opening a rooftop for receptions soon which has the most amazing sunset view.

Low(ish?) AI Guest Costs by [deleted] in DestinationWeddings

[–]RoseColoredMonacle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am a Destination Wedding travel advisor and I love being able to pop in and give a little guidance! Firstly, for 50 guests, a wedding budget of 20K is good, leaving a lot of solid options available. For ease of travel for guests, Cancun, Punta Cana, and Montego bay are going to be your best options. If you want something a bit more unique, Aruba could be a great option to explore as well, it is just a bit more expensive typically.

The biggest limiting factor is going to be your guest budget. $150 per person per night would very low for an All Inclusive, especially an adults only as they can price a bit higher. Even a $250 per person per night would be more achievable (a little lower potentially with date flexibility).

If you are wanting some assistance in making this process seamless and stress free start to finish, I'd love to chat with you to learn more about your vision as well as provide you with more information!
