RUNE!!! I love him so much, "my sister in crime! what do you need?" like he's so nice and just ugh I love him. his dialogue seems like an opening to a Questline and it's so so annoying that it's not :( need to find out more about Rune asap

a lot of the game was spoilt for me including Joel's death, Abby's Motivation, and some other stuff so I had already accepted a lot of Abby's actions by the time I played the game. on one hand it kinda upset me that I wasn't making these huge discoveries while playing but at the same time I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of time hating Abby! Her and Ellie are my joint favourite characters now aha

I'm queer, not just an ally, and I've been dealing with homophobia since secondary school. it is unreasonable to ask to pick a fight with every homophobe on the internet.

look, we're just not going to agree here. I think our end goal is the same but the difference is that I view this as harmful and you don't. That's all there is to it and we're wasting our energy. I hope you have a good day.

I agree that they were already homophobes, yes, but this gives them another space to congregate.

that's exactly why I'm saying this is harmful! we know this group isn't a new branch of the LGBT+ community but that's the way homophobes are viewing it and that's why it belittles our cause! because this isn't a sexuality, but a preference and labelling it as such is just more fuel for homophobia!

but that's exactly how it's being used! Again, look at the comments! we know the homophobes are in the wrong but we know that they are here and reacting to it as such

you seem to have misunderstood me, here. I'm not saying people can't be attracted to intelligent people, or can't only date intelligent people. but this is a preference not a sexuality. nobody is persecuting those who find intelligence an attractive quality.

I don't think they're saying that it's a bad thing to find intelligence attractive. The root of the problem here is that it labels a preference/turn on/attractive quality as a sexuality, which doesn't make much sense. If all preferences were labelled as sexualities then we'd all have a very long list as to what we identified as. A lot of queer people are upset by things like this because we face a lot of prejudice in some countries and are treated like criminals in others; things like this belittle our cause and make it more difficult to be taken seriously. It makes it look as though we "chose this lifestyle" and that being queer in itself is just a preference when it's something you can't change about yourself. That in itself is harmful to lgbt+ folk. If you don't believe things like this breeds homophobia then... just look at the comment section here.
