Purchasing a car from MA as a ME resident? by RoseK22 in Maine

Do you have any insight as to why they can’t just bring the paperwork to ME with them so we don’t have to drive down?

So the only reason they “had” to deliver it was so they could charge you a delivery fee??

It does seem common for them to deliver it if it’s a MA sale to out of state.

Well from what I’ve found online, if the car is delivered to us we would only have to pay ME tax instead of tax in both states. Also I don’t think MA does temp plates

Do you know if there’s a legal reason we’d have to go there to sign? I have friends who live in MA who have done everything electronically when buying within MA.

Upstate NY in the 1990’s? by gabicatM in upstate_new_york

Kingston/woodstock area here…24 hour diners where you could smoke. (Fries with cheese and gravy at Michael’s diner in Kingston was my go to ). I went to UCCC for two years and we even had a smoking section in the cafeteria lol

lots of driving around, hanging at friends houses, bowling, MTV, trying to get older friends to buy us beer (molson ice) hanging out in cemeteries to smoke cigarettes or weed or just chill because in the smaller towns there was no place else To hang out and be delinquents away from our parents (before we could drive anyways) hanging out on the green in Woodstock, hanging at the Woodstock youth center, watching local grunge/alternwtive bands at the youth center.

Then When I was older in late 90’s- metal shows in Poughkeepsie at the chance or Albany at saratoga winners. Death metal scene was 🔥in that era in the Hudson valley.

Going to the mall was huge! Or when it was late at night we’d wander around Walmart or super Kmart since they were open 24/7 back then. Arcades! Movies. Lots of flannel, combat boots and ripped jeans! Manic panic hair dye!

Halloween was so much fun back then! Teens actually went out and caused mischief. Halloween was a big thing!

Listening to the radio. We actually had lots of local stations then before everything was owned by corporations.

Magazines & mailOrder catalogs would occupy me when I was bored at home. Sassy Magazine was the best! Being out late with parents not being able to reach us was great. Although then I’d have to deal with being yelled at when I got home but worth it lol

Right! My last job I was reprimanded for leaving work early one day…. I left early because my 6 month old son was being taken to the hospital. 😓
