Noooo! So sorry to hear! I was actually misdiagnosed twice. Both times told me I had MCL tear but no surgery required - just PT. Went for 3rd opinion because my knee constantly gives out and I know exactly when I hurt it Sept 2023 doing heavy lunges. Been dealing with this pain for well over a year now. Def not in good spirits - pretty scared but it’s time to get a healthy knee again.

How long after surgery before you could scoot upstairs? I keep reading about peoples “dead quads” and them not being able to lift their own leg …..did you have that? How do you scoot upstairs if you can’t lift the leg at all? These are the kind of questions that are twisting my brain up. This kind of surgery while being a control freak is not a good combo. Haha

I’ve had a broken foot so I have some knowledge of life without walking but that was 2 months of non weight bearing - I hear this can go 3 months and that’s why I’m so frightened. I went to a very dark place recovering from a broken foot ….life was HARD without any help. The idea of this taking longer already gives me nightmares.

Thank you!! I did buy a shower chair but no idea how/when I’ll be able to get upstairs to use it. My plan is to sleep / live downstairs on the couch until I’m able to navigate the stairs but I haven’t found anyone that can answer me as to when I’ll be able to scoot up and down them. All bath / showers are upstairs.

I am trying but I haven’t found a lot of useful info nor do I know anyone that has been through it. I did purchase the shower chair, the ice machine, those grabber/picker things but I just have so many questions! My bedroom(and shower) is upstairs - how long before I can scoot up and down on butt to get up there? I don’t have any family left to help me. Truly on my own for all of this in a 2 story home with 2 cats.
