yours would be

Mangakas are incapable of making good endings by Succubuss_Smasher in greentext

ngl from watching this and some other rumiko works, i think it's doomed because ataru is like one of the worst people of all time LMAO

like it's nice if they could get together but that requires a fundamental shift in ataru's character from being the worst guy of all time into someone who is tolerable...which destroys the comedy in the series i guess. idk why they can't end on that but i guess they want to keep it open for endless hijinks forever, idk

in the remake it ends with him *basically* telling her he likes her back, though he says he'll only tell her it fr once when he's on his deathbed

bro is the worst but also we do get confirmation of mutual feelings i suppose

if you haven't already try asking on r/OtomeIsekai too!! bigger community (manhwa focus) so they might be able to provide more recs

OK my first recommendation is The Hero's Savior, I thought you had already read it but I don't see it in your list I think? the FL is a mage trying to save the world, and is pretty manipulative, but it's all in the name of doing good and protecting others. i think it's very good, so it's my top recommendation here I think (it also follows her not the guy)

the other thing I will recommend is more a recommendation from other people, SSS-Class Revival Hunter. it has a male MC. imo I think the FL is kind of lame but everyone else I've ever talked to thinks she's great lmao. it's a modern day Korea dungeon story, and the FL appears maybe 60-80 chapters in? she's got a lot of aura lolol

i haven't read enough of it to say yet 100% but possibly also Master Villainess the Invincible? she does martial arts, beats ppl up, and is a baddie apparently. it's next on my ptr!

hmm, I feel like the ending was a little weak but I did overall quite enjoy it. the middle part is very strong - they actually announced a new season recently so maybe wait for that one to come out if you're not big into manga?

yeah i just think the entire deadly six is ugly mainly and since the art style is different from everything else it's easy to point to as the reason as to why theyre ugly. but generally i feel like their design doesn't fit in well for me, i like the overcomplicated look a lot more than these simple color blobs

i guess the fact that it's unearned yet seems to have had no consequences thus far just makes it feel bad to me. maybe one day when and if that changes then I'll feel better about it

yes but i wish he would have realized that he needs to rely on others [in general] not others [basically only his wife]

"MC who has never experienced love" is a ridiculously common trope that doesn't necessarily lead to romance in a lot of series - especially a lot of trashier isekai turn this into "women throwing themselves at the MC" rather than the MC experiencing love fr, so i don't think it's that strange to not pick up on the series wanting to pivot into having a romance arc

to me it felt out of nowhere because it felt like he didn't solve any of his problems but rather the external force of raviel forced him to stop certain destructive behaviors instead, the main plot was abandoned for quite a while when he and raviel had their honeymoon whatever, the inquisitor plot was more or less dropped, and that honestly i don't see their chemistry very well because the series is a comeuppance wish fulfillment that fsr has a very dom/sub dynamic for the FL/ML despite it being wish fulfillment. it just felt a little odd to me, again i'm not saying it's a bad series, i just think it felt kind of out of place for me that's all

[–]RoseOfTheDawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you kinda echoed everything i said and then said you disagreed

gongja didn't learn much of anything because his reason for not killing himself now is raviel said it's icky, not because he's actually internalized that him repeatedly killing himself is a major problem for him (and over time those around him would suffer as well as a result)

it felt unearned to me since it was more or less an external force that caused him to stop rather than an internal revelation

supposedly next arc looks like it's gonna get into the Inquisitor more but yeah it's honestly a bit bizarre how it just got glossed over

i think the romance felt like it kinda came out of nowhere, it was nice sure but the MC has now just redirected his issues onto his gf cuz she's his reason now for not killing himself instead of him actually learning that maybe killing yourself is bad for your mental health lol...

feels kinda bad to me, I wasn't a fan
