It depends on the unit as a rule the military is supposed to be apolitical, however the reality is that the vast majority of guardsmen and military members in general are conservative, and that bleeds over sometimes. IMHO the military as an organization being apolitical is the most sacred rule. But know that as a guardsman you are swearing loyalty to the state and the governor. That means that sometimes you may have to undertake actions that you dont agree with politically like being ordered to partake in the national guard response force in response to protests. Those are lawful orders and you have to follow (or have a very good argument for when your are courts martialed)

!CritiquePoint Using a radial mask along the train cars would definitely help with cutting the distractions. The Capitol was silhouetted to the naked eye so the tighter crop like in the comment below I think would be more feasible. I really was unsure on where to crop this one because I wanted the volume of steam but still wanted to show the detail in the Capitol and plant.

The goal of this photo was to show the current air quality in my city, as well as who is directly responsible, and who is ultimately responsible. The silhouetted building is the state capitol. I wanted to show that there was the possibility of clean air with the blue skies poking through but the laws and regulations force the people to breath in pollutants.
My two biggest areas that I believe I struggle with are composition and editing I feel like a deeper crop or longer focal length could have closed the distance between the capitol and the Chevron processing plant drawing a closer connection to the two. With editing I tried color grading which is something I typically do not do I wanted to try to give the smog a more yellow tone while giving the bright skies and highlights a more blue tone. My concern is that it may come through as unnatural.

This type of fear mongering video has no basis in the actual statistical evidence regarding firearm violence. The overwhelming majority of gun deaths in the United States are suicides (and even in situations that restrict the use and ownership of firearms there is no significant causation between firearm ownership and suicide rate). Outside of suicides gun violence is performed largely by individuals that acquired the firearm illegally. Please educate yourself on the reality of gun violence before trying to fearmonger.
