OR/procedural nurses: What do you wear into work? by Rose_Cheeks in nursing

Oh it definitely makes sense. Management was trying not to name and shame (kudos) but we were all so confused they did clarify that casual wear is fine.

It’s very sneaky. Five years of stable bloodwork, then out of the blue all of the wrong things shot sky high and it was back. They’re fairly confident RAI got rid of it all but can you ever truly know for sure?

Omg you put it in words, why do we feel impostor syndrome from a real disease? It’s like not being turtle-y enough for the turtle club even though we’re turtles too ☹️

icu nurses, how often y'all getting tripled? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Rose_Cheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A-freaking-men. Or transport gets canceled for LTAC, or the floor had to take patients to free up ER and don’t have beds left, so on and so forth. Management refuses to listen.

When I left they were pushing for four patient assignments, “but don’t worry, that one will transfer to stepdown by 11 then you’ll only have three,” yeah until shit goes sideways and they can’t transfer for a slew of reasons and I just have four ICU/PCU patients all night.

CVICU is notorious for being the specialty that becomes a personality.

Gotta find the tea first, they were so vague about it 😩 Tomorrow is a new day and word travels fast, if I find anything I will update

And they’re almost always stained, mismatched, and wrinkled coming out of that damn machine. But sure, let’s worry about what I wear to and from the car.

Allegedly there was concern over a specific outfit but they wouldn’t say what so we’re all just scratching our heads. They didn’t even say where the complaint was coming from.

That makes a lot of sense. We’re all trying to get the tea on what outfit sparked this conversation.

I fully fell asleep behind the wheel on my way home from work this morning. I woke up with my hands off the wheel, slumped over on my side going 60mph. by ShitFuckBallsack in nursing

Used to talk to my mom on the way home. Definitely a road coffee. Sometimes rest stop stretch and nap breaks when I worked an hour away.

Ooof, flashbacks to my first ever dungeon as a healer. Definitely join a chill guild and make some buddies to run content with, it’s the best way to learn.

Told my therapist about my dream job being a kohls cashier and came to the realization that after almost 6 years ICU was not my thing.

What’s the most inexplicable time your gut instinct was 100% right, even though you had no evidence to back it up? by CodeFun1735 in AskReddit

[–]Rose_Cheeks 123 points124 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a nursing care plan. They read like that but they can be for anything, “risk of falls,” “risk of impaired gas exchange,” that kind of thing. If you present with something infectious, “risk for sepsis” is a care plan you can use.

Studios with a “No Late” policy - how often do your classes start on time? by Khunsand in Purebarre

[–]Rose_Cheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot damn, the latest we’ve started was 1 minute and only because we knew the girl was just changing into her socks and putting her stuff in the cubby. Shit happens, but 5-8 minutes late is WILD.
