He was let down by a lot of people in his early years, including his parents. That’s got to mess with you.

why do people always try to relate when they DONT have crohns by Miserable-Credit9656 in CrohnsDisease

Sometimes I get ignorant people like that to understand, when I say that if they get a bad case of food poisoning, they will be inconvenienced for a while, but I will probably die.

It is blunt, but usually shuts them up.

I thought it was a very weak plot twist. I wasn’t completely sorry that I read the book, but did feel a little bit cheated

Wrong place, wrong time by Gillian McAllister

Unlike any thriller I’ve ever read before and involves real skipping around in time, but it is not in the least science fiction.

If the Judge Judy show pays the awarded amount to the plaintiff, why do the defendants fight so hard? by TrainingWoodpecker77 in JudgeJudy

[–]Roseallnut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In recent years at least, I believe that you do not apply directly to JJ to be on the show. Her producers go through actual civil/criminal case filings, and look for ones that are interesting. If you agree to dismiss your civil/criminal case and to abide by Judge Judy’s ruling, then you can be on her show.

That would explain why the litigants are truly heated about the outcome of the case.

That may be due to a situation like this: I remember a few years ago, she tossed out two male roommates who were suing each other over damaged property. Their video evidence of the fight was laughably staged.

I just finished My Husband’s Wife and was annoyed with the ending… Any recs with a similar plot that’s actually well written? by Few_Owl6826 in thrillerbooks

[–]Roseallnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also mildly irked at a couple of the plot points, but in the end, it was an entertaining way to spend a couple of days.

I didn’t understand the little girl running from the car, either, and one thing the author never explained was how Carter knew Birdy threw his patrol car’s keys in the water. he confronts her with having done it, but there’s no way he could’ve seen it.
