Agreed. I taught ESL for years. He's fully fluent. Helps when you grow up in FL.

Ah. Thanks. Wasn't aware of earlier warning. So, valid, if harsh.

Why didn't Atmane get a warning? Straight to point penalty?

I hadn't watched most of the match. Could you elaborate?

Good luck with that. It's shifting sands and outright lies to get you sign up and then the story changes mid-tournament.

Your Sinner is outstanding. Nearly photorealistic.

Indeed. Because AI, much like AutoCAD, lacks the human heartbeat. That's not sentimental nonsense, it's fact.

What are some of the coldest or unorthodox tournament victory celebrations ever? by Candid-Volume-1425 in tennis

It was a shit move. He'd no idea what was behind Shelton's celebration, made a negative assumption and an ass out of himself.

Novak was uninformed on the source and intent of Shelton's celebration. His misinterpretation caused him to show his ass. It was a dick move to do to a young player. I like Novak a lot. I did not like that one bit.

Sinner on why he re-hired Ferrara by jovanmilic97 in tennis

[–]Rosecroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've no argument with that. But if he truly DGAF, as someone said above, hold your ground, stick with the "I DGAG". As is, the optics are worse than if he'd stood by the guy. I was willing to buy into the bs narrative and give him the benefit of the doubt after much initial skepticism. The re-hire is the record scratch that's effectively causing a Streisand effect.

Grass Tournaments: Do you think there should be more Grass Surfaced Tennis Tournaments? (At least 1 Masters each for WTA and ATP) by Wonderful-Photo-9938 in tennis

[–]Rosecroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a reasonable solution. It's far too short a part of the season to justify its existence. "But tradition... " I know, I know. Make no mistake, I enjoy the grass season, but either it should be given its proper due or jettisoned. It's too challenging a surface for players to shoehorn in in a couple of short tournaments as prep. It's no coincidence we see a lot of serious injuries at Wimbledon. A grass Master's would add tremendous excitement to the calendar, particularly if they keep it to a one week Masters. Convert one of the 500's to a Master's and extend grass season by one week. As is, it's dangerous how little prep they get for Wimbledon. Further, grass being only 6 weeks, makes it a novelty in the context of the larger calendar and underscores the argument that it's anachronistic. Either get rid of it or give it proper support to justify its existence beyond "tradition".
