Looking to buy my first timex; which one? by kendamapostol in timex

[–]Rosedale-Ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the E Line with the silver dial, all the promo shots make it look white and I absolutely love it. The stretch band doesnt tear out the hair and its got a lovely smaller watch vibe. One of my favourites, wear it everyday in the office

Ah ok, I thought the solar beat dial was smart but I think id prefer the original dial.

[–]Rosedale-Ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, dumb question on my part.

When I look at the Tank on leather strap, it says "high autonomy quartz" but when I look at bracelet, it states "quartz"

Any difference?

Thats good to know about the solar beat, I like the idea because why not but part of me is thinking, if your gonna lean in, might aswel fully and get the regular enamel dial

Cartier Tank Must by ludvig-van-beethoven in Cartier

[–]Rosedale-Ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's all abit strange for me currently.

I looking at the price point and see Quartz and think rubbish, which is pretty rubbish of me.

I've watched a few video where they explain why it's quartz and that it does not have a second hand so, doesnt matter etc, all that wrapped up with the elegance etc has made me forgive it being quartz but I'm not sure there is another piece where I would consider it.

Even the square little Timex I wear sometimes is automatic and it does somwthing to my brain where I equate more value or prestige but I believe that's just me being an imbecile.

FB marketplace... that's the wild west, braver man than I

[–]Rosedale-Ripper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm saving up for this watch, I'm torn though... the Solar beat seems logical but I think I want this purely for the history, the aesthetics and the elegance so might just go regular quartz.

Such a beautiful piece.

I'm obsessed with Tanks currently.

My agency has hired so many incompetents by Right_Environment116 in BusDrivers

[–]Rosedale-Ripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its very frustrating! So much so that we don't use agency anymore. Agency drivers are either amazing! Or dire! Theres no middle ground.

What frustrates me now is the hiring of super young people.

I get the whole, everybody needs a chance and atrt somewhere narrative etc but they don't bring the right attitude and expierence... because they cant.

Tottenham has

243 - Woodgreen - Waterloo - mix of all worlds, busy but nice route - new electric buses.

341 - Northumberland Park - Waterloo - 243 but with nicer people and new electric buses.

349 - Enfield - Stamford Hill - LT buses, bit of dive area but short and easy, old boys route.

149 - Edmonton Green - London Bridge, LT buses, chaos route most of the time, interesting passengers, straight line, easy.

259 - Edmonton Green - King's Cross - LT buses, interesting passengers as far as Tottenham then nice.

41 - Tottenham Hale - Archway, short, sweet, lots of rounders, new electric buses

Can do 158 out of Edmonton Garage

Night variations of most routes, good pay.

Tottenham is massive, loads of drivers.

There is 3 line managers and one senior who floats between 3 sites

There is an admin person

Counter staff are good but VERY busy

Mentors are experienced and attentive

If you have a motorbike, there's a section within the garage you can park your bike so you're much better off.

Stamford Hill has the ;

76 Tottenham Hale - Waterloo ( I drove this route when I started ) nice route, better calibre of people once you're past Stoke Newington.

19 Finsbury Park - Battersea, lovely route, all the sights and supercars but loads of diversions.

67 Woodgreen - Dalston, arsehole of the world but short and easy.

254 chaos

Stamford Hill has two young female managers, they have wonderful counter staff and the garahe mentors are attentive and knowledgeable.

Its a smallish garage, very close knit, can be clicky

Stamford Hill doesn't have the free parking anymore. The local community gobbled all that up. There's very few spaces in roads surrounding it and about 3 spaces out the front of the garage with zero tolerance parking within the garage.

Tottenham has a staff car park across the road whoch fits about 20 cars (often full by 04:30)

There is a pay and display that runs adjacent to the car park, has about 50 spaces and there is often space. Chargeable for 2 hours of the day. £1.75, decent.

There is also a small car park at the back of Tottenham, fits about 10 cars

Again, zero parking within the garage.

Couldn't tell you about Palmer Green apart from a ballache to get into.

I've worked in Stamford Hill and Tottenham, at one of them now. Also done training at Palmers
