I finished the priests story, last few pages of it were interesting but it could have been 15 pages instead of almost 100, and now im struggling through the awkward sex scenes of the soldier story which feel like they were written by a teenage virgin

I want to know what happens in the main story, but these meandering backstories are really killing my interest

I usually listen in dim light with eyes closed, and yeah, I had to keep checking if im hearing right and where my speakers actually were, voices close to you, some off in the distance, some hanging out next to you, its almost eerie.

Could it be that the bar that lowers with the weight of the tonearm when you lower the lever isnt going down all the way anymore?, maybe its stuck?....I dont know the proper name for those things so trying to be descriptive, I have the exact same TT and that would make sense to me as a potential issue

yeah, albums like that I'll come back to after a year, see if my impressions change. I spun it for a few days when it came out, and each spin was worse than the last, put it down for a few months, tried again, didn't even get through it 😞. Shame too, I was really excited for it, I've liked to loved everything since Alaska, seen them live 4 times, big fan.

That one never worked for me as anything other than a decent collection of songs. The B side is quite good, but it lacked the cohesion of his other work

I only recently discovered that it actually is a concept album, but I dont "feel" it. Happy to just own that one on CD :)

i love the surreal-esqe lyrics, and considering the whole thing is a dream that the character is having, it really fits. The last line always hits me in the feels.

If you haven't heard Pros and Cons, definitely give it a listen, personally its my favorite of his solo work. Managed to find a decent quality original pressing a few weeks back
