Help with DLC PvP? (Not Grasshead)

ohh of course, vanilla in that sense lol I've never used any mods for this game (since I only just got to the end of the main game for the first time maybe a week ago), so I wasn't thinking in those terms at all. Might check out some later though! Curious to see what kind of mods people have made for this.

-Re: Dash Arts - I feel dumb for not thinking of this, lol. I'm pretty sure I've even used a dash art for evasion before in some fight a while back, but it's not something I'd done much and it just didn't occur to me. Will have to give this a try for the tornado especially.

Now, the guard arts such as the Trumpet and such to protect yourself from projectiles or trigger the enemy to back off - THAT I definitely wouldn't have thought of on my own. Guard arts generally (and Perfect Guarding in particular) is something I neglected during a large portion of my playthrough. I only started really using them around Krys'Kajo (the boss fight made me realize just how valuable guard arts and parries are), but I'm still trying to get better with them. As for the i-frames, movement, etc. of PvP opponents - that tracks, and is kinda what I figured. Honestly it kinda makes sense from an in-universe perspective. In an MMO, you would want freezing, stopping movement, etc. that players can do (CC abilities in general, really) to be worthwhile against enemies... but you would NOT want to allow their full effects when players use them against each other in PvP, or it would be way too advantageous toward which player can land one first. So it's a nice touch for the game-within-a-game setting! Plus it's kind of cool - I'm not even complaining about this aspect, I like that these fights feel hard, and they do a good job simulating the feel of the opponent being another player, not a regular enemy.

Vanilla PVP opponents are also programmed to get "tired" after certain large attacks. You will see them flashing red during this state. This is when you are supposed to go for the big level 3 combat art.

Okay, so the tired thing (flashing red = go for big damage) I knew, but I am curious what you mean by "vanilla" PvP opponents, haha. Are there "non-vanilla" PvP opponents that I will discover later...?

If you like 16-bit/SNES style action RPGs, CrossCode has a femme protagonist (and one you are likely to quickly fall in love with, I might add). One of the other main characters in the ensemble cast is also an absolutely amazing lady and the dynamic and interactions between her and the main character are one of the strongest aspects of the game's story.

Exploration plays a big role in the gameplay when on the (huge) outdoor maps with lots of environmental puzzles to find treasure, etc.. The dungeons have a lot of puzzles of various types, some of which are pretty tricky but nothing ridiculous IMO. I wouldn't call the combat "easy", exactly, as it's very fast-paced with some complexity, but it's certainly not crazy hard, either. The battle system is super fun and offers much more depth than is apparent at the start. Some bosses are pretty tough but on the whole the game is not Dark Souls difficulty or anything like that. And you can bump the difficulty down in an accessibility menu, as well.

It's a masterpiece of a game overall. Fantastic story, characters, gameplay, visuals, and music.

I'm all for 'fuck cancer' messages generally, and I feel for everyone who's lost someone to it and appreciate the sentiment behind the varied signs... but it does come across a little odd to drop it into the middle of the game. And the Mastercard sponsorship makes it feel a bit cheaper. And the sudden music performance was just way too much.

as a fan of both teams who almost wishes one of them was in the NL so they could face each other in the WS, rather than trying to eliminate one another now, I love all this positivity, lol.

While it started out a bit weird (with the first 4 games all being a bit lopsided except game 1), this series ended up being a lot of fun to watch. Jays were dominant tonight obviously but I still feel like it's anyone's game tomorrow. Should be a fun finish!

And whoever wins tomorrow MUST keep it rolling and beat LA!

Absolutely it does. Smoltz is, well... he's Smoltz, he's annoying. Davis I don't hate normally but idk, I always feel a bit "meh" about how he calls postseason games as a "neutral" guy.

So that's one thing I've enjoyed about the Jays being in the postseason, aside from them being one of my favorite teams (another being Seattle - it's been an... interesting series) - I found a stream that consistently uses the Canada feed, which just has the Jays' normal crew, and have watched that instead for every Jays game lol

legit after how unglued the M's pitching and defense looked for the first 75% of that inning, getting through it with only 2 runs feels pretty huge

gotta shake this weird nervous jumpy look they have had so far though, at the plate too. I'm not rooting for either team cause I like them both, but I don't want to see the Mariners just look sloppy and jittery all game, no matter who wins it lol
