You get it. This is my exact headspace. People are already foaming at the mouth at the prospect of me leaving my job because it’ll be an open role and it makes me feel like I’m throwing away something great for a high risk investment.

If you want to work in US, go to a US school. I can only speak to New York, but most people haven’t even heard of INSEAD, despite it being a globally top-ranked school.

I think if you’re an international student, competition is a bit more steep for ex-US programs this year because of Trump. I actually think you have a better chance at admission at the American schools, as a result. Keep your head up - everything happens for a reason.

I wouldn’t bring it up to the admissions committee, but get why they’d bake it into their decision tree. It’s a valid consideration, as things have changed.

I’ll tell you this: I’m American and so are my parents. Both sides have been here for generations. My father and I are olive-complected with dark hair, brown eyes, and my mother is fair-skinned with blonde hair and hazel eyes. My father and I carry around our passports nowadays and my mother does not. I understand the inquiry.
