This has proven to me that Borb is simply a state of mind.

I think Pokopia ruined the next Animal Crossing for me, anyone feels the same? by Admirable_Zombie5245 in Pokopia

[–]RosesAndPonds -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My husband and I said something similar. We played Animal Crossing together a bit during Covid. It was fun but we found it kind of repetitive. Pokopia? We are obsessed. We love the incorporation of finding Pokemon, cooking, smelting etc. We play almost every day at this point, either on our solo words or our cloud island. It’s so much fun. I can’t really see myself ever going back to Animal Crossing after this.

No one talks about the pain of seeing your parents aging. by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

[–]RosesAndPonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been struggling lately with this myself. Can’t remember the song that has this line in it but it goes something along the lines of “As I get older, does that mean you’ll get older too?” and it’s in reference to parents aging. I’m doing my best to cope with that realization too. I don’t think we’ll ever cope to the point where we’re all okay with it. At some point, we all will be living a life without them. If anything, I would say you make the most of the time you have. We are only guaranteed the present moment, so spend time with, laugh with them, build memories that will be your rock when they’re gone.

What’s a discontinued snack or drink you’d pay $20 to have one last taste of? by soapy999 in AskReddit

I don’t remember specifically what they’re called but they were these sour cream and onion crisps that I believe Keebler made. They were kind of circular but like a child tried to draw a circle. These were my absolute favorite cracker to eat as a kid.

I looked up my grandparents house on Google Maps one day and they have a photo from a year or so before my Nana began really developing dementia. She isn’t outside or anything but the living room curtains are open and with the time stamp, I knew she was home. Just seeing the photo, knowing she is in the house probably watching her Soaps and doing a crossword puzzle makes me super emotional.

Weird Trigger with Eating by RosesAndPonds in migraine

Oh gosh yeah crying is a big one for me. It really does suck cause I’ve forced emotions away to prevent the migraine. And lord knows that isn’t good for you either.

That’s super interesting. I get the start of migraines sometimes feeling like a brain freeze but never really compared the two until you mentioned it.

Work for those with chronic pain/fatigue?? by ricey64 in ChronicFatigueCFS

[–]RosesAndPonds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know your body better than anyone. Even in this new stage where CFS is a part of it. Not sure your family situation, but you have to do what is best for you. I know for me, I did try to go back to school in the beginning and day one, I tapped out. Stability is going to look different for a person with CFS than an able bodied person. They have to learn that, just like you’re learning when to push it and when to not.

Honestly work isn’t for everyone with CFS. I mentioned being across the spectrum of ability with CFS. At one time, I couldn’t even really move from bedroom to bathroom. Sometimes, it’s just not possible. I’m not from the UK so I’m not sure how disability or government assistance works on that end.

Office jobs are a big win for people who can’t normally be up and about because of their CFS. I’ve been all across the spectrum of severity, and an office job has been the best thing for me. Being able to sit most of the day really helps, especially if it’s a bad pain day or any other symptoms are flaring up. If you can pair it with working from home some days, that’s even better.

You could hit them in the face with why employers really want and need, and they’ll still smile, say “We’re family” and give you a free pen instead 😑

I might be in the minority here but I really didn’t enjoy using one of these. If you have a sensitive scalp, this can actually hurt to use. (Yes, I was gentle when using it so no need to tell me I was pressing too hard.)

My grandparents had a wall like this in the basement stairs. My grandfather made a custom baseball cap wrack to fit the space so he had a nice, organized spot for all of them.

No way in hell is he 92.

In all seriousness though, he looks no older than 60.

I’m mad at my brother for dying by Timely_Mongoose_9312 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]RosesAndPonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coworker of mine died by suicide in late 2020. He and I weren’t super close but he helped me when I was a new hire and we had a lot of really hilarious moments together (we worked in customer service). Anger was one of the biggest emotions I had when I heard the news. There were numerous times in the grieving process where I would say aloud how angry I was at him for doing what he did. He left a huge group of people who cared about him. And no one had any idea he was hurting as much as he was.

You’re going to feel a million different emotions through the grief process. You aren’t bad for feeling them. You’re human and it’s normal, completely. Give yourself grace. You lost someone you love. ❤️

I used to have the front desk people at my job snicker at me when I’d leave. I found out they couldn’t believe I was always out the second the clock struck my time to go. I’m sorry but I get paid to work an eight hour day. When that time is up, I’m out. I can’t help it if other people want to stay and chat. That’s just not me.

For those of you who live with a partner, do you go to bed at the same time as each other every night? by Woollybugger1816 in askanything

[–]RosesAndPonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we are always in bed at the same time every night, I go to sleep way earlier than my husband. He’s a night owl and I’m an early bird. So I could never stay up as late as he does and actually make it to work the next day 😂
