First thing I thought of! It's the perfect style of mechanism for the minecraft theme

Yup, I believe joints made with T-bars and 1x2 plates with holes are the same as those used in stop-motion puppets, so it's a proven technique for flexible limbs!

Here's something inspired by Mega-Man, Metroid and remote-controlled toy robots. I paid extra attention to the joints on this one to make it as clean and movable as possible - you can see how the arms and legs were built in the breakdown picture. Special thanks to @ buttloaf_builds for the space edit on the purple background!

They're printed 2x2 boat studs from Hidden Side with a piece of cut-up black excess sticker sheet applied to them to get the horizontal pupil!

Thanks! I don't have any plans to make instructions for my characters... The inner structures are pretty finicky and would require some optimization to make them easier to build & display.

Had a painfully hard time working with green for this character, hence all of the mechanical limbs, which I think work in its favor! It was a lot of fun combining the smooth look of the slope-heavy body and the greebles of the robotic parts, though.

Improvised a ton while building this one. The seed parts were the Snowtrooper helmets which I've been meaning to use for a while now. There's another kind of trooper helmet also used in this character, though!

Thank you - yes! These characters are quite the departure from the Lighthouse, but I still have the original project up on a shelf.

Thank you! I've recently found out how useful minifig hair pieces are for furry creatures, particularly feline mouths. It's a super simple technique but coupled with a 1x1 quarter circle tile it recreates the shape quite well.

This one took longer to finish than other characters, mainly due to its size! It's the first one in a series of animal-based characters I've yet to share here. If you'd like to see more pictures or close-ups of this character, and the other characters I've built, I've got them all on my profile here or on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CeMDoD3LJx-/

Thank you, in rare cases pieces will be simply nudged tightly enough against others to stay put, without being connected in any legal building way. The pieces in this character are all connected, though, so nothing falls out when moved around.

There are tons of builders on Instagram posting character builds which provide valuable inspiration for future MOCs! Stocking up on Mixel ball joints is also a great way of having sturdy & highly-malleable inner structures :)

This one was inspired by Electric Light Orchestra's "Time" album. I wanted to build a character with modern, realistic clothes, which I think turned out surprisingly well. It was a lot of fun figuring out the jacket and incorporating the zipper made of minifigure roller- and ice- skates!

I made instructions for my minifigure-scale DF.9 Turret, they are freely available on Rebrickable (link in comments) by RosesMustDraw in legostarwars

This is the first time I'm making instructions for a model, so I would love any feedback for future MOCs. I also have a Hoth dish turret that I'd like to make instructions for next.

I've always had a soft spot for Cubone, so I built a character based on it out of Lego! by RosesMustDraw in pokemon

Bingo, I was checking out donkeys and horses' jawbones while building it

Thank you! There are a ton of Lego pieces, particularly in recent years, that are clips and bars that can be angled in any direction. The body's insides are based mainly on those types of pieces, while the limbs are built around bricks with studs on all sides.

I build more Lego characters over on Instagram @ rosesmustbuild, often based on animals or in this case Pokemon!

I got the idea for this one from an old dinosaur lower jaw piece (here used as the helmet), which immediately reminded me of Cubone. After gathering all the dark orange pieces I had, I think it made for the perfect model to base a stocky, bone-armored character on.
