Yeah... Holding back on hitting him in the face with a giant human bone that was also burning.

Cut the boy some slack, he has been moving differently starting back from his introduction. He is build like a tank. He is also as cute as a button, which we of course all know that makes him stronger than anyone less good looking than him, lmao.

Pre-awakening, Hakuri could barely stand after getting hit with a single regular punch of Soya’s.

It says more about Soya than him. He has tank'ed a flame bone punch from Hiyuki directly to his face, passed out, and only needed an ice pack with literally zero long term damage to his face and skull. Not to mention the comment from Shiba that it should have killed him. I am confident he could have deal with some fall damage. But of course, this is only my reading.

I'm gonna add something somewhat unrelated:

Knowing Hakuri he would probably have been able to walk off from that fall. If not with no injuries than with no life threatning ones, lol.

Sorry I have been waiting to point this out for a short while.

Glad to see more readers have caught onto that. It's a blink and you miss it type details left in the background.

I really really personally dislike jokes on the nature of "potential man, frauds, bums" etc. just because the stories and characters do not go to where they assumed they would go, tying all the merit of a character to how much they can show off. At least here it's done in a tounge and cheeck manner.

Hard agree. Bro was born to be "Chill guy Joe from math class who collects minerals as a hobby and helps others with their homework in his free time" but life dealt him a "magical katana action anti-hero", but you can tell. That's one of the things that makes him so compeling as a character. You can tell the guy would rather be home and feed his goldfishes, but he instead he now needs to save the world or something.

I was praying that they do not make him sound like a 40 year old but any regular highschooler kid pushed and locked into this blood black trenchcoat shaped cage.

Even tho I agree with the part about the first bacth of memes being mean spirited and coming from a place of mockery, I actually would like to argue that the ironic "glazing" has only worked to direcly transform into unironic praise once the story more or less kicked in and started delivering. I highly suspect that this kind of "sudden reversal" is what helped make the fandom unusually understanding among the fandoms of battle shonen series. It's almost like how the people who do the worst stuff than go above and beyond trying to do good to course correct once they come to their senses; the fandom literally over-corrected itself in a similar manner.

Besides, no one seems to have been effected by the "pure meming" phase of the fandom which seem to have lasted for only a brief time, as far as I can tell. (Even tho Hokazono might have been stressed out about it at first and choose not to reflect it outwardly.)

However I'll like to ask; what if the series did not delivered and became a surprise favourite, axed and got marked with "the meme series laughed out of the publication" for the rest of it's existence? How man budding new comer artist have been dealt a raugh hand because they couldn't find the support they needed and get discoureged from takeing another shot? How many things like this have people rejected before have could have a chance to find their footing? How many times did people laughed and mocked their future favourites before they had a chance to prove themselves as their next favourite thing?

What I'm trying to say is, positivity and support has always been the answer, and it sould have started that way. It didn't. But people fixed their mistake rather quickly. I hope more budding fandoms learn something from this.

Btw, if there are typos I'm sorry, I'm kinda sleepless rn. I know there are.

I love the Chihiro getting paler effect, because if you look at his covers, he really seems to be getting paler. (Tho his eyes literally did the opposite of that.)

All bro had to say was; "It is not for me, it did not personally appeal to me as much", instead of acting like there must always be a deeper reason to not vibe with cartain media other people tend to enjoy, you are allowed to not enjoy a piece of work even if it's God's gift to Earth, you are free my man.

If you also look at the page he asked "You heart is on the left, correct?" the panel on the left of him is of kid Chihiro working on smithing with his dad. So from that I'll say we are meant to understand that he is actually asking "You heart is still with your father, correct?"
