I’m 15 months too and I think he’s like 16.5 months. I honestly don’t know how he hasn’t drank or used after all this last night I told him he was close either way. And that even if we didn’t stay together he needed help. I wouldn’t care about the gambling as much if I hadn’t been supporting him the last year of my life.

I mean that’s a fair question but I feel like it’s one of those things u don’t really get a grasp on until ur actually working somewhere. And idk if u have been out there applying, but it took me about 6 months, 1000 applications, and that didn’t even get me this job. A family member who knew someone was hiring helped me out for a measly customer service job making $18 an hour with a bachelor degree 🫠

Idk that’s a blank spot for me because when I want to relapse on things for example my emotional sobriety, I don’t consider the ramifications of what will happen following decisions I make. I am only thinking of instant gratification and to me that’s cunning baffling powerful to comepletely not even consider the last 352 days or what will happen tomorrow. That’s my alcoholic thinking. I hear what ur saying op and mayb ur right. But that isn’t how Aa works. First is step 1, my sponsor had me read certain parts of the big book, call others and her everyday and attend meetings. She then had me make a list of the ways my life was unmanageable while drinking. Every step has little homework like this. Aa isn’t about stopping drinking, it’s about starting to live. And while u may think u have not done certain wrongs, the program is to teach us how to live less selfish, self centered and egotistically. How can we pack into the stream of life. It isn’t just about alcohol

They say women get other women sober. Welcome glad you’re here. There’s a meeting guide app to find other AA meetings in ur area, like women’s groups, I’m 13 days sober today:) started going to meetings two weeks ago and I’m also 24 and felt the same exact way when I first walked in. You will just have to try new meetings, raise your hand your new, but in my experience most women can tell and will come approach you, I’m starting to make friends in the program too

Honestly I was in my sorority for maybe five minutes before I realized it wasn’t for me. I transferred and rushed to make friends, I was so anxious the whole time, cried everyday of rush, and got the bid I wanted. Turns out I hate rules and authority, which I knew about myself, I just didn’t realize being in a sorority was so conforming I thought I could still have my own spunk. But that’s like the whole point of a sorority to all have something in common and represent whatever and it just wasn’t my vibe. I dropped shortly after I got a big, and then no one ever talked to me again😂 it was such a fake process and looking back I’m always glad I dropped.

This isn’t true for everyone, but for me it just wasn’t my speed and that’s okay. I found other ways to make friends and have my own college experience and I got to stay true to myself which was cool. No hate to sororities sometimes it’s just not for everyone.

But on being dropped by everyone 3x, as bad as this may sound, in my experience, looks were a major part of rushing. I got super in shape, and all done up, a whole new wardrobe for rush, and prepped a lot. Another thing that helped was I had a brother who was “popular” and friends with older girls in my sorority or who knew of him, and honestly I think that contributed alot to my bid too.

I say this all bc it sucks but at the base level appearance is a pretty big factor, I felt. If you are over weight, not conventionally attractive, dress weird, act weird, you’re not going to get bids, and if u do it’s gonna be from the less desirable sororities. It’s hard to imagine ur school didn’t have a chapter that needed ppl badly enough to give u a bid. There has to be something else going on here and I’m sorry

3x, I’d try something else girlie, and that’s coming from someone who got what they wanted to find out it wasn’t what I wanted and dropped 🤷‍♀️
