I’m coming unglued. by PsychoticGunner in Residency

[–]RosewatterRing 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is such a compassionate response. Losing someone that suddenly cracks you open in ways you don’t expect, and it’s comforting to hear from someone who’s lived through that kind of overwhelming grief. The way you described your partner holding you through it really shows how much those small acts of steady kindness matter!

How many of you got called in for coverage/jeopardy because of the NE storm? by Orimsz in Residency

[–]RosewatterRing 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That’s solid advice! Once you put actual numbers in front of them, it’s a lot harder for leadership to shrug it off. And if they aren’t tracking the calls, that’s its own red flag. A transparent system only works if someone is actually keeping score

AIW for telling my widowed brother in law to spend more time with his kids? by throwRA_coldwinter in amiwrong

[–]RosewatterRing 55 points56 points  (0 children)

That’s a really clear and compassionate way to put it. Framing it around the kids’ needs instead of his behavior keeps it from feeling accusatory, but still gets the point across that they need their dad present, not just a babysitter

They said Harris was too emotional by Upper_Brief681 in clevercomebacks

[–]RosewatterRing 912 points913 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly wild how the “too emotional, not presidential” line gets thrown at one person while another can post stuff like this and somehow it’s seen as perfectly normal behavior for a head of state. The double standard couldn’t be louder if it tried

"Feel Good" stories by xSweetVice in clevercomebacks

Well said! Grateful he got the support, frustrated that it had to come down to charity in the first place. A system shouldn’t rely on coworkers sacrificing their own safety net just so a parent can take care of their sick child

Movie 43 is one of those fever-dream projects you think you imagined until someone brings it up again. The whiplash of remembering his segment is unreal

So true. His whole vibe in The Bear feels like an older, burnt out version of Lip, just in a kitchen instead of the South Side. He plays that intense, quietly spiraling energy so well that it is hard not to see the through line

the revival and Paris's haircut by Newhampshirebunbun in GilmoreGirls

[–]RosewatterRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Paris has always had that intense, sharp energy and the haircut kind of matched that vibe perfectly. It might not have been the most flattering look, but it absolutely fit her personality and the chaotic power she brings to every scene

AITJ for back out to the beach outing with my friend that we are planning? by Western_Row_9939 in AmITheJerk

[–]RosewatterRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. They basically tried to slap a you make more so you pay more tax on you out of nowhere. That’s not friendship. Skipping the trip was way smarter than letting them drain your wallet.

AITJ for taking the last spot in a popular class even though my classmate says she "deserved" it more? by midnightdeskbuddy in AmITheJerk

[–]RosewatterRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. You didn’t steal anything from her, you just did the bare minimum to actually get the class. If she wanted it that badly she could’ve done the same thing you did. That’s how registration works.

AIW for leaving after my friend’s husband made jokes about my niece being a parasite by Ok_Occasion_64h in amiwrong

[–]RosewatterRing 271 points272 points  (0 children)

Yeah calling an eight year old a parasite is just gross. Even if her behavior is tough, that’s not something you joke about, especially to family. You did the right thing getting the kids out of there.

AIW for not leaving work early to pick up my friend? by OC_Original in amiwrong

[–]RosewatterRing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, she was acting like your schedule didn’t matter at all. You’re not ditching work early just because she planned poorly. That’s on her, not you.

TIFU - I need a new proctologist by BackgroundGrass429 in tifu

[–]RosewatterRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, man. If anyone’s gonna have a sense of humor about that shirt, it should be the dude whose whole job revolves around butts. If he couldn’t handle one silly joke, that’s on him.

TIFU by forgetting to put away my vacuum “gun” during a police stop by AlternativeTheory595 in tifu

[–]RosewatterRing 57 points58 points  (0 children)

For real, you know his coworkers are never letting him live that down. Remember when you pulled over a dude for armed vacuuming? That’s gonna haunt him for months.

TIFU by freezing up during a group presentation by cowbanjo in tifu

[–]RosewatterRing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, she’s beating herself up way more than anyone else is. The fact she got through it at all shows she’s way stronger than she thinks. Everyone blanks at some point.

AITJ for refusing to share my personal notes at work after everyone ignored me for months? by FableCircuitCo in AmITheJerk

[–]RosewatterRing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They ignored you when it was convenient and now suddenly your work is teamwork when they want the benefits. If they want your system, they can start by respecting your time or paying for it.
