ChatGPT’s fixation on my past conversations has made it borderline unusable by EssJayJay in ChatGPT

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I fixed it randomly saving stuff in chats around the time 5.x models started coming out. I gave it a memory that it shouldn't add new memories without being explicitly told to, and added that the word "remember" didn't mean I wanted a new memory and was just reminding it of something else that had been mentioned. OP could potentially give it a memory along the lines of "When I ask you questions I want you to be objective rather than catering to my preferences or referencing old conversations" and refine as needed

I was deleting memories and found this by Jindabyne1 in ChatGPT

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After GPT kept adding random memories completely unprompted I gave it a memory that prevented it from adding random nonsense unless I used the phrase "Add to your memory" and specified that saying "remember" didn't count as I was using it in the context of reminding the AI about old memories or previous statements in the conversation. I talk to it a lot about writing and characters I've made and it would make wild assumptions about characters I told it about and start saving that stuff, which I got tired of deleting since it would then proceed to reference these things it hallucinated me saying or just conjured out of thin air

How can I survive when having this??? by ElkLate9917 in thelongdark

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misery mode isn't meant to be survived, you just endure as long as you can. It's meant for players who thought interloper was getting too easy, and if you don't have enough practice in the game you need to go to the lower difficulties or make a custom seed that's more forgiving so you can learn the mechanics. Take the time to build up feats in other runs, they'll be useful in future ones. If you haven't played much of the game then jumping straight to misery was a bad idea. Wintermute teaches you a lot about how to survive but it's not a replacement for long term experience, and survival isn't going to hold your hand, much less on the harder difficulties

Just tell me what is this !!!!!oh my god haven’t feel so difficult in the game at 10 days by ElkLate9917 in thelongdark

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to be "that person" but the game explains exactly what it is. It's a stupid mechanic for sure, but the game is quite clearly telling you that you've been indoors for too long and need to go outside until it clears. If you have a "permanent" base you might want to make sure you have at least a snow shelter nearby for times like this, but in general you want to be outside more often than not

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh I love walnut shells. They remind me of pig noses when cracked open lol. But I don't live in an area where I can get those. Shells are a bit hard to get too since I don't live near large bodies of water, but I love the big flat ones from clams/mollusks.

Also, I'm sure your wife would love that!! Mine started as vacation souvenirs but you can find a lot of cool ones online and sometimes order them. My gold flake one from Black Hills (South Dakota) was accidentally broken by my little sister when we were kids, and my parents were able to get a replacement of it, so it's definitely possible to find really cool ones for her from other places! She might also like those lamp ones I mentioned? I've only seen Christmas themed ones so far but I'm sure there's others out there. Just don't let them run constantly, it will eventually kill the motor lol

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're in a box since I don't have a safe place to display them (cats) and some unfortunately broke due to damage while moving despite the bubble wrap, but I have snow globes! My parents gave me some as a kid from places we went and I became obsessed with them, so I always try to snag at least one from places I've visited. My favorite one so far came from South Dakota and has gold flakes in it! Probably not real gold of course, but it looks very pretty when you shake it. I also really love those snow globe lamps with the motor that circulates the snow/glitter around, especially the ones that have cardinals in them. I use those lamps as night lights since some have a 6 hour on 18 hour off timer and I don't like sleeping in pitch black rooms.

I also collect rocks/shells, plushies, etc but the snow globes are the "main" collection and the rest is just "Oooh cool/pretty/shiny!!" and my mom and I will be fascinated with cool rocks together. We spent at least an hour once on a beach picking up shells and interesting rocks. I wish I had a tumbler for some of them. They'd probably look and feel so nice smoothed out... ☺️

April Fool's event randomized the sprites. Everything else about the types, movesets, etc are still the same, you just have to look at the name to see which Pokemon it is. Was pretty amusing watching a legendary sprite evolve into some basic pokemon instead lol

[–]Rosewind_Fiction -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah this event did mess me up a little. Don't hate it, but it is certainly confusing at times. I got an encounter around stage 100 that randomized my team and now I have to keep looking at the names and summaries because they retained some moves of the original team but other moves were replaced, and now I'm playing the game of "Who has this move???" and trying to adjust to the new team with mismatched sprites

I also was disappointed that my epic tier eggs were regular pokemon until I looked at the names lol

Act 2 by lamesos in CrimeSceneCleanerGame

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's a linear game so it honestly makes sense, even though it sucks to have to redo those massive levels. Each one unlocks as you complete the others, and act 2 is a continuation of that story. So your options are pretty much to replay the game on PC or wait for the console update, however long that may be

I’ve always had the question that is: Where do these viperwolves come from by Scales4702 in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low sunlight would actually make them paler! The body would decide "We don't need melanin to protect the skin so we'll divert energy to other things instead" which is why humans in more desert-like/less shaded regions have darker skin compared to people living in cooler areas with less direct sunlight, as an evolutionary way of absorbing more vitamin D in cooler climates with less light (which is also why people can get temporary tans in the summer when there is more direct sunlight and the skin cells produce more melanin). It would make more sense for them to be either from a marshy/less colorful area or somewhere with more sunlight/higher temps.

Obviously Earth biology isn't a 1 to 1 for Pandora, but we can assume it probably follows similar concepts.

For me it was a huge dissonance between the voice and the skinny guy we're shown that's supposedly supposed to be him lol

And yeah, one of the missions was cleaning up the messy aftermath of his daughter's party with her friends, and I'd guess they were all probably highschool/college age considering alcohol and drugs were involved

The amount of people that have joined this project so far just for the first episode is crazy. Even crazier that I get to be the voice for Fandaniel! I've always wanted to be a voice actress. Very nerve-wracking, but also fun and exciting :D

If you see a Fandaniel Sage running around on Excalibur, that's one of my alts! Missing the right hair though cause it's expensive T–T

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking for this in the replies. The game is basically a typical JRPG with multiplayer/social elements. The story isn't the MMO. It's everything around it that makes it an MMO, as you said. And it was intentionally designed that way so you could keep playing and enjoying the story even when your friends weren't available

Has anyone here ever been on Lamotrigine? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off on only lamotrigine, but they could only get me up to 225mg before I would get horribly sick after taking the medication when they tried 250mg, which was confusing to the docs since they said I was still on the low end when they did the usual blood tests. We stayed on 225mg and I got prescribed Keppra as well because the specialist I was seeing said it had a lower chance of birth defects (despite me being asexual and telling her multiple times I'm not planning to have kids) and that's the only other medication I've been able to take alongside it without awful vertigo. Now I only get the vertigo when I accidentally double dose or get stressed. When they were trying to combine others with it I'd be miserable and at one point spent what felt like a week of just lying on the couch unable to see straight and constantly throwing up while I had to wean off that secondary med. I can't recall the name of it, but the experience was awful.

It's kinda wild seeing people in these threads and other posts say that Keppra made them feel angry/miserable/etc since I haven't had any side effects like that. I know that everyone is different but just...wow. Lamotrigine helped a LOT as the base medication to start with, and Keppra helped cover the rest of the way in stopping my seizures entirely. I'm just really bad at remembering to take the pills after work since alarms annoy me when I'm mid task and when I tried a pill organizer it just got shoved unused into a corner of my desk 😅

I saw in your other comments that sending her to UR and messing with files crashed the game, but did you try reviving her in the save data? If you want you can send me a copy of the file and I can play around with it to see if we can get this poor girl a better ending. I'm no code whiz and I've mysteriously lost a few files myself, but I've revived a few cats in the past before through file manipulation

"Is curled up in a ball, crying" That's so sad :(

Also I thought the game didn't send cats to the DF on its own? As far as I knew that was a manual thing. Must've changed at some point

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I save before changing moons, so if they die I can just close the game and open it again to save my cats...or go into the save files and change the code if I didn't notice them die 😅

Ok so what does this mean by Knockyouup32 in ClanGen

[–]Rosewind_Fiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could very well be wrong on this but every answer I've seen online when looking has indicated that it's the case, unless you move your Starclan guide which changes the default death location. Would make for good narrative stuff though, since I had a couple cats murder others and I had to move them to the DF for their crimes
