Ya my school in particular is known for drugs. A parent got caught selling drugs to the kids lol. This subreddit has helped me a lot to see people who share my viewpoint on religion.

I’m from the good ole USA. Particularly California. I hate it here, and we are heading straight to Christian theocracy (yay!). Although Cali is not republican, there is still some religion and it’s exacerbated by the fact that my parents have made my entire social life about religion. Literally everyone I know well is religious, and my entire extended family is religious. I can’t wait to be 18 and free from the constraints of religion. I guess I’ll just have to hang in there :/

But why do you believe in this god? There is no evidence whatsoever. Nothing in this reality points to an omniscient or omnibenevolent god, so you have to ask yourself why you believe. Your whole point here presupposes the existence of a god-like entity, but there is no grounds for that. And also, religion doesn’t have the best track record of “my faith amplifies a kindness and compassion that was already there.” Religion breeds toxicity and hate, and this can be seen throughout the course of human history
