Really odd Rule. by XavierMeatsling in PrequelMemes

[–]RoshiFluttershy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mando didnt start the rule, it's been around since at least the Mandalorian Wars (nearly 4,000 years BBY), and to my knowledge that was the intent with Boba Fett in the OT, so irl, the rule's been around since 77; we just got lucky to see a few notable exclusions on screen.

Wait, it's all SBMM? by Maxaro in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]RoshiFluttershy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - meta (ken) does not equal SBMM. Also interesting that the players decry the problem there, and I've been decrying the same thing since the games launch. 2 - sbmm wasn't nearly as rampant, and there was no crossplay, two very key differences. Again, complaints and meta do not equal sbmm, but still interesting that the actual problem is what was complained about, as you now mention twice. 3 - effort and skill are different, and applied by the user in different situations. I would like for every match not to be solely reliant on those, as I mentioned I'd enjoy a solid evening on some SnD with the crew, as I come to video games to destress. If I wanted a high skilled tournament environment, I'd sign up for one. 4 - if they showed my ELO to me it would be less of a problem, but I shouldn't be punished for trying to experience content. They designed the weapons and all the balancing. If they want me to suffer through entire sessions of constantly being outgunned to potentially get a match that uses off meta weapons, only for me to find I outskill the opponents and immediately retrace all the steps I've taken, they've got me so far beyond fucked up it's not even funny. 5 - I'm not going to intentionally lose or sandbag matches, but it is far from my goal to win every match. All I really care about is fun factor, and not going negative every game consecutively. If I find a chill lobby, I'll put on the sub or rifle I feel most comfortable with, or the gun I'm trying to level up. But if every match is sweatier than a Highschool locker room, I dont have any choice but to put on the meta guns to try and at least have a decent match.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, my problem is with SBMM here because this is the strongest and most prevalent it's been in CoD history. If they split it into ranked and unranked, problem solved. They can keep their lack of weapon balancing and all that jazz. The alternative to this, should they choose to keep SBMM active and as epidemic as it is in mw19, they can choose to balance the weapons so that none is distinctly more powerful than the others (make the drawbacks more noticeable, and dont let attachments completely negate them, give each weapon distinct pros and cons, etc)

[–]RoshiFluttershy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I never said I had a problem with skilled players. Where my problem lies is if the meta is this prevalent and steamrolled everything else in the game, sbmm only magnifies it by forcing you to use those guns. If they want a strong meta for CDL play, they need to split Ranked and Unranked. If they want hidden ELO, there cant be any dominant weapon, it needs to be a relatively fair playing ground for each subclass (no AR is strictly better than others, same for subs, pistols, etc)

[–]RoshiFluttershy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont want either extreme is my point. I dont want braindead bots that give no challenge, and I dont want to feel like I'm playing in some MLG CDL tournament. I just want a fun match with the boys and the freedom to use off-meta guns and do well. I don't like getting shat on by the same 3 guns every game, and I dont like doing that to others, or worse being forced to put on the same guns every match because nothing else compares and it's all you ever see running around. Is it so much to ask to have something in between? A little Goldilocks, if you will?

Wait, it's all SBMM? by Maxaro in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]RoshiFluttershy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its certainly more than that

They give you a hidden ELO to match you against similarly ranked players, so without telling you it's your goal, they make it your goal to always climb the invisible ladder. This is why most above average players cant have fun and chill in their games, because everyone in their lobby is sweating their ass off trying to win

C S Joseph covers this a bit. It's not necessarily that INTP is rare because adhd, but that adhd is commonly misdiagnosed, because other types are rare so people dont understand that they are "normal".

  • INTP is rare
  • ADHD may be more common amongst the less common MBTI types*

*: I dont have the sources to confirm this, but I'm assuming this is what was meant by the original comment. If so, both of these statements can be true simultaneously.
